This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The Radeon HD 7970 DirectCU II Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 11.

This PC hardware performance game review for the Radeon HD 7970 DirectCU II Edition graphics card, when running 2019 more popular games, lets us see what type of FPS this card gets when playing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions and ultra settings. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 269.

With 1080p being the most common gaming resolution at the moment we explored how well the Radeon HD 7970 DirectCU II Edition can run FIFA 20 at 1080p and saw it return strong frame rates at the following graphics settings - Low: 218 FPS, Medium: 182 FPS, High: 133 FPS and Ultra: 97 FPS. For performance contrast we can see that Death Stranding is predicted to return a weak 0 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Therefore, the performance is on level with the reference card. Consumers will want to get the TOP version for superior performance.

I'd go for the gigabyte, I generally like the gigabyte cards a lot, they're reliable and they have excellent cooling. For looks my favs is the xfx 7970
