How well can the GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

Getting one of these GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition graphics cards allows the gamer to run indie system requirements and some less demanding AAA titles. In today’s PC hardware terms these are considered middle range for gaming performance. Capable of running games with up to a DirectX 11 requirement.

Here is a quick game performance synopsis for the AAA games played in 2019. In particular we focus on how well the GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition runs at Ultra graphics settings and what frames per second it is getting at 1080p, 1440p and 4K monitor resolutions. Of the 1000 most demanding recommended specs found in game requirements today, this gpu is more powerful than the graphics requirement of 106 games in todays list.

With 1080p being the most common gaming resolution at the moment we explored how well the GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition can run Red Dead Redemption 2 at 1080p and saw it return weak frame rates at the following graphics settings - Low: 17 FPS, Medium: 14 FPS, High: 9 FPS and Ultra: 7 FPS. For performance contrast we can see that Death Stranding is predicted to return a weak 0 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Moving screen sizes up to 1440p we ran Red Dead Redemption 2 on the GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition to see that it got a weak set of frame rates. Here are the low to ultra results at 1440p - L: 13FPS, M: 10FPS, H: 7FPS, U: 5FPS. Another popular game to investigate at 1440p with this card was Death Stranding which we predicted will be weak in performance netting an Ultra FPS of 0 FPS. Finally we then took a look at Planet Zoo where its Ultra 1440p Frame rates were weak at 0 FPS. 1440p gaming on the GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition is going to underperform if you try and run modern games.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition in your PC? We think this GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition has around 6-12 months until an upgrade should be considered.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 660 Ti Zotac AMP Edition? A great upgrade graphics card would be a 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, which has 138% better performance and can run 899 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today. Alternatively if you are thinking of upgrading this graphics card then we would currently suggest the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB. This PC hardware upgrade performs 75% better and can run 683 of today’s 1000 most demanding PC games.
