How well can the GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. Capable of running games with up to a DirectX 11 requirement.

This PC hardware performance game review for the GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition graphics card, when running 2019 more popular games, lets us see what type of FPS this card gets when playing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions and ultra settings. 332 games can be played by this graphics card of the 1000 most demanding games being played by PC gamers today.

The 1080p FPS on Ultra for the GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition shows us that Need For Speed Heat is getting a weak result of 24 FPS, and then we are seeing Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order returning a weak 1 FPS while another game on our list is the Borderlands 3 which is getting 24 frames per second at Ultra 1080p.

One of the growing popular screen resolutions for PC gaming is the wider 1440p. So we wanted to see how well the GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition performed at 1440p by taking a look at some of the current popular games. First we looked at Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order and saw it deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 1 FPS, Medium: 1 FPS, High: 1 FPS and Ultra: 0 FPS. We then checked the performance on Borderlands 3 to see if that runs well. It was weak with a 18 FPS at Ultra 1440p. 1440p gaming on the GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition is unable to perform adequately across modern games at this increased resolution.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition in your PC? 12-18 months of top end gaming is still left in this graphics card

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition? A suitable upgrade choice for the GeForce GTX 680 Gigabyte OC Edition is the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB, which is 91% more powerful and can run 897 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements.
