In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Intel Q43 Express Chipset are very slightly better than the Intel G43 Express Chipset.
Both the G43 Express Chipset and the Q43 Express Chipset were released at the same time, so are likely to be quite similar.
Both GPUs exhibit very poor performance, so rather than upgrading from one to the other you should consider looking at more powerful GPUs. Neither of these will be able to run the latest games in any playable way.
The G43 Express Chipset and the Q43 Express Chipset have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.
The memory bandwidth of the G43 Express Chipset and the Q43 Express Chipset are the same, which means the G43 Express Chipset and the Q43 Express Chipset have equal limitations when it comes to graphical data transfer.
Both the G43 Express Chipset and the Q43 Express Chipset have 0 Shader Processing Units. Having the same number of SPUs and using the same architecture means that the performance they offer can be compared by looking at the memory bandwidth, Texture and Pixel Rates. In this case, we sadly do not have enough data in this area to complete the comparison.
The G43 Express Chipset requires 24 Watts to run but there is no entry for the Q43 Express Chipset.

Mini Review | Intel G43 Express Chipset comes embedded on the Core 2 Quad/Core 2 Duo CPUS and features an Integrated GPU called Intel GMA X4500. Due to its characteristics (e.g. Shared Memory) the performance is very limited but might be enough to play today's games at low settings excluding, however, very demanding games like Metro 2033 or The Witcher II, that are unplayable, even at the lowest settings. | Intel Q43 Express Chipset comes embedded on the Intel Core 2 Quad/Core 2 Duo CPUS and features an Integrated GPU called Intel GMA X4500. Various Intel Chipsets come with the Intel GMA X4500 but this one (and the Q45) seem to deliver the best performance. However, due to its characteristics (e.g. Shared Memory) the performance is still very limited but might be enough to play today's games at low or medium settings excluding, however, very demanding games like Metro 2033 or The Witcher II, that are probably unplayable, even at the lowest settings. Note 1: Intel GMA X4500 does support DirectX 10 but even the most forgiving games might be unplayable due to the demand level. |
