In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce 8200M G are noticeably better than the Nvidia GeForce Go 6400.

The GeForce 8200M G was released over a year more recently than the GeForce Go 6400, and so the GeForce 8200M G is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GeForce Go 6400.

Both GPUs exhibit very poor performance, so rather than upgrading from one to the other you should consider looking at more powerful GPUs. Neither of these will be able to run the latest games in any playable way.

The GeForce Go 6400 has 32 MB video memory, but the GeForce 8200M G does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The GeForce 8200M G has 8 Shader Processing Units but the GeForce Go 6400 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewNVIDIA GeForce Go 6400 is a GeForce Go 6200 but with higher clock rates.
Just like the GeForce Go 6200, it only has up to 32 MB of dedicated memory so even with higher clocks, it's already doomed from the start.
GeForce 8400M GT is an on-board GPU part of the 8000M Series released by NVIDIA, in 2007.
Only less demanding games can be played smoothly.
