In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Intel HD i5 U470 are massively better than the Nvidia GeForce Go 7200.

The HD i5 U470 was released over three years more recently than the GeForce Go 7200, and so the HD i5 U470 is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the GeForce Go 7200 when running the latest games.

Both GPUs exhibit very poor performance, so rather than upgrading from one to the other you should consider looking at more powerful GPUs. Neither of these will be able to run the latest games in any playable way.

The GeForce Go 7200 has 64 MB video memory, but the HD i5 U470 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The HD i5 U470 has 12 Shader Processing Units but the GeForce Go 7200 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The HD i5 U470 requires 18 Watts to run but there is no entry for the GeForce Go 7200.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewIntel HD i5 U470 is a specific version of Intel GMA5700MHD which is built into the Intel Core i5 U470 mobile processor. NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 is the weakest GPU in the GeForce 7000 Series. With only up to 32MB of dedicated memory, it's already doomed from the start.
