In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT PowerColor Dual Fan 8GB are noticeably better than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q.

The RX 5700 XT has a 675 MHz higher core clock speed and the same number of Texture Mapping Units as the RTX 2070. This results in the RX 5700 XT providing 108 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

Architecture It equips a Turing GPU Codenamed TU104 which is a First Gen Turing GPU and has 40 SM activated, offering 2560 Shader Processing Units, 160 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. It also has 320 Tensor Cores for AI purposes. GPU The TU106 GPU used in the GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q is clocked lower than the regular RTX 2070 Super Mobile version, leading to a slight reduction in game performance. The standard model has a base clock speed of 1215 MHz and a boost clock speed of 1440 MHz whereas this 2070 Super Max-Q has a clock speed of 930 MHz and a boost clock speed of 1155 MHz. Memory The GPU accesses an 8GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1750MHz.
