In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 are very slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mobile.
The GeForce RTX 2070 has a 270 MHz higher core clock speed but 16 fewer Texture Mapping Units than the RTX 2070. The lower TMU count doesn't matter, though, as altogether the GeForce RTX 2070 manages to provide 20.6 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The GeForce RTX 2070 has a 270 MHz higher core clock speed than the RTX 2070 and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the GeForce RTX 2070 providing 17.2 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The RTX 2070 was released over a year more recently than the GeForce RTX 2070, and so the RTX 2070 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GeForce RTX 2070.
Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.
The GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mobile and the GeForce RTX 2070 have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.
The memory bandwidth of the GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mobile and the GeForce RTX 2070 are the same, which means the RTX 2070 and the GeForce RTX 2070 have equal limitations when it comes to graphical data transfer.
The GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mobile has 2560 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce RTX 2070 has 2304. However, the actual shader performance of the RTX 2070 is 3533 and the actual shader performance of the GeForce RTX 2070 is 3940. The GeForce RTX 2070 having 407 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GeForce RTX 2070 delivers a noticeably smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the RTX 2070.
The GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mobile requires 115 Watts to run and the GeForce RTX 2070 requires 175 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the GeForce RTX 2070, but we do not have a recommended PSU wattage for the RTX 2070. The GeForce RTX 2070 requires 60 Watts more than the RTX 2070 to run. The difference is significant enough that the GeForce RTX 2070 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the RTX 2070.

Mini Review | Overview The GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mobile card is a high-end RTX 20 Series graphics card for laptops and considered an enthusiast graphics card based on the Turing GPU architecture. Architecture It equips a Turing GPU Codenamed TU104 which is a First Gen Turing GPU and has 40 SM activated, offering 2560 Shader Processing Units, 160 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. It also has 320 Tensor Cores for AI purposes. GPU The TU106 GPU used in the GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mobility is clocked lower than the desktop variant, leading to a slight reduction in game performance. The standard model has a base clock speed of 1605 MHz and a boost clock speed of 1770 MHz. Memory The GPU accesses an 8GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1750MHz. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 80-115W the RTX 2070 Super Mobile is fairly power hungry and will significantly reduce laptop battery life at full load. System Suggestions GeForce GRTX 2070 Super Mobile is capable of resolutions all the way up to 4K (3840x2160) but is best suited for 1440p displays. We recommend a high-end processor and 16GB of RAM for optimal performance. | Overview The GeForce RTX 2070 is a High-End Graphics Card based on the Turing Architecture. This card has also been rumoured to be called the GeForce GTX 2070 or the GeForce GTX 1170. Architecture It equips a cut-down Turing GPU Codenamed GT104 which is a First Gen Turing GPU and has 16 SM activated, offering 2304 CUDA Shader Processing Units, 144 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. It is equipped with 288 Tensor Cores for AI purposes. GPU The central unit runs at 1410 MHz and goes up to 1710 MHz, in Turbo Mode. Memory The GPU accesses an 8GB frame buffer of Second Gen GDDR6 through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 1750MHz, or 14GHz effective. Total memory bandwidth is 448GB/s. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 175W, it requires at least a 500W PSU with one available 8-pin connector. Performance Predicted performance of the GeForce RTX 2070 suggests it will be as fast as the Nvidia Titan Xp, making it a suitable graphics card for 4K gaming. System Suggestions GeForce RTX 2070 is best suited for resolutions up to and including 3840x2160. We recommend a high-end processor and 16GB of RAM for optimal performance. |
