In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB Mobile are noticeably better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ultra.
The GTX 1660 Ti has a 45 MHz higher core clock speed and 40 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 1650. This results in the GTX 1660 Ti providing 60.7 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The GTX 1660 Ti has a 45 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Render Output Units than the GTX 1650. This results in the GTX 1660 Ti providing 24.7 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The GTX 1650 was released less than a year after the GTX 1660 Ti, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.
Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.
The GTX 1660 Ti has 2048 MB more video memory than the GTX 1650, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GTX 1660 Ti also has superior memory performance overall.
The GTX 1660 Ti has 31.7 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 1650, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 1660 Ti is noticeably better than the GTX 1650.
The GeForce GTX 1650 Ultra has 896 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB Mobile has 1536. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 1650 is 1425 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 1660 Ti is 2442. The GTX 1660 Ti having 1017 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 1660 Ti delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GTX 1650.
The GeForce GTX 1650 Ultra requires 90 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB Mobile requires 80 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the GTX 1650. The GTX 1650 requires 10 Watts more than the GTX 1660 Ti to run. The difference is not significant enough for the GTX 1650 to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the GTX 1660 Ti.

Mini Review | Overview The GeForce GTX 1650 Ultra is an Nvidia GeForce low-end graphics card which launched in April 2020. The GeForce GTX 1650 Ultra is designed to compete against AMD's more affordable gaming cards such as the RX 550 and the RX 560, and replaces the outgoing GTX 1050. This is a daul-slot graphics card which connects to the rest of the system using a PCIe 3.0 x16 interface. Architecture The Turing Architecture aims for 30-50% as much performance as the previous-gen Pascal Architecture. GPU It equips a GPU Codenamed Turing T106, more specifically a TU106-125, which has 14 SM activated and thus 896 Shader Processing Units, 56 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1410 MHz and goes up to 1590 MHz with the Boost Clock. Memory The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR6, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the memory clock operates at 2000 MHz (8GHz effective). Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 90W, it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required. Performance The GeForce GTX 1650 Ultra will enable low to mid-level graphics performance on modern AAA 2020 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect this card to deliver around 50+ FPS on medium graphics settings at a 1080p screen resolution. Comparatively, this card has slightly faster performance than the GTX 1050 Ti. System Suggestions The GeForce GTX 1650 Ultra is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080, so our recommendation would be to use 1920x1080 in order to get the most out of your settings. We recommend a high-end processor such as the i5-8400 and 8GB of RAM for optimal performance. | Overview GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile is a mid-range GeForce 16 Series graphics card for laptops based on the Turing GPU architecture. It is considered a great price to performance graphics card. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. Unlike the RTX series, the GTX series does not support real-time ray-tracing. GPU It equips a Turing GPU codenamed TU116, which has 1536 Shader Processing Units, 96 TMUs, 48 ROPs and 24 SMs. The central unit runs at 1455 MHz and goes up to 1590 MHz in Boost mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 6GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 192-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1500MHz, or 12GHz effective. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 80W the GTX 1660 Ti Mobile is averagely resource-intensive and will fairly significantly reduce laptop battery life at full load. System Suggestions GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a mid-range Processor and at least 16GB of RAM for optimal performance. |
