In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gainward Ghost OC 6GB are significantly better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile.

The GTX 1660 has a 135 MHz higher core clock speed and 24 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 1650. This results in the GTX 1660 providing 45.3 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 1660 has a 135 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Render Output Units than the GTX 1650. This results in the GTX 1660 providing 28.8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 1660 was released less than a year after the GTX 1650, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.

Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The GTX 1660 has 2048 MB more video memory than the GTX 1650, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GTX 1660 also has superior memory performance overall.

The GTX 1660 has 272 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 1650, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 1660 is massively better than the GTX 1650.

The GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile has 1024 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gainward Ghost OC 6GB has 1408. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 1650 is 1597 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 1660 is 2577. The GTX 1660 having 980 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 1660 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GTX 1650.

The GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile requires 50 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gainward Ghost OC 6GB requires 125 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the GTX 1660, but we do not have a recommended PSU wattage for the GTX 1650. The GTX 1660 requires 75 Watts more than the GTX 1650 to run. The difference is significant enough that the GTX 1660 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GTX 1650.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile is a mid-range GeForce 16 Series graphics card for laptops based on the Turing GPU architecture. It is considered a great price to performance graphics card. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. Unlike the RTX series, the GTX series does not support real-time ray-tracing. GPU It equips a Turing GPU codenamed TU116, which has 1024 Shader Processing Units, 64 TMUs, 32 ROPs and 16 SMs. The central unit runs at 1395 MHz and goes up to 1560 MHz in Boost mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR5 memory through a 128-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1000MHz, or 8GHz effective. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 50W the GTX 1650 Mobile is averagely resource-intensive and will fairly significantly reduce laptop battery life at full load. System Suggestions GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1600x900. We recommend a mid-range Processor and at least 16GB of RAM for optimal performance.Overview
The GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gainward Ghost OC 6GB is an entry to mid-level Nvidia graphics card which is expected to launched at the end of October 2019. The GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB is designed to compete against AMD's more affordable gaming cards such as the RX 570 and the RX 580, and replaces the outgoing GTX 1060.
Architecture
The Turing GPU architecture aims for 30-50% as much performance as the previous-gen Pascal Architecture.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed Turing TU116, more specifically the TU116-300-A1, which has 22 SM activated and thus 1408 Shader Processing Units, 88 TMUs, and 48 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1530 MHz and goes up to 1830 MHz with the Boost Clock.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 6GB frame buffer of fast GDDR6 through a 192-bit memory interface, while the memory clock Operates at 1750MHz, or 14GHz effective.
Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 125W, this graphics card requires one 8-pin power connector.

Performance
The GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gainward Ghost OC 6GB will enable medium to high graphics performance on modern AAA 2018 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect this card to deliver around 50+ FPS on High graphics settings at 1080p screen resolution.
Comparatively, this card will have quite a bit faster performance than the GTX 1060.

System Suggestions
The GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gainward Ghost OC 6GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440, so our recommendation would be to use 1920x1080 in order to get the most out of your settings. We recommend a high-end processor such as the i5-8500 and 12GB of RAM for optimal performance.
