In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q are significantly better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M.
The GTX 1650 has a 119 MHz higher core clock speed than the GeForce GTX 770M, but the GeForce GTX 770M has 16 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 1650. As a result, the GeForce GTX 770M exhibits a 5.4 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 1650. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The GTX 1650 has a 119 MHz higher core clock speed and 8 more Render Output Units than the GeForce GTX 770M. This results in the GTX 1650 providing 10.3 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The GTX 1650 was released over three years more recently than the GeForce GTX 770M, and so the GTX 1650 is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the GeForce GTX 770M when running the latest games.
The GTX 1650 has 1024 MB more video memory than the GeForce GTX 770M, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. However, overall, the GeForce GTX 770M has superior memory performance.
The GeForce GTX 770M has 32.2 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 1650, which means that the memory performance of the GeForce GTX 770M is noticeably better than the GTX 1650.
The GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q has 1024 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 770M has 960. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 1650 is 1152 and the actual shader performance of the GeForce GTX 770M is 779. The GTX 1650 having 373 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 1650 delivers a noticeably smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GeForce GTX 770M.
The GTX 1650 transistor size technology is 16 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GeForce GTX 770M. This means that the GTX 1650 is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GeForce GTX 770M.
The GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q requires 30 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 770M requires 75 Watts. The GeForce GTX 770M requires 45 Watts more than the GTX 1650 to run. The difference is significant enough that the GeForce GTX 770M may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GTX 1650.

Mini Review | Overview GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q is a mid-range GeForce 16 Series graphics card for laptops based on the Turing GPU architecture. It is smaller and doesn't drain the battery as fast compared to the mobile version, but it is weaker in performance. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. Unlike the RTX series, the GTX series does not support real-time ray-tracing. GPU It equips a Turing GPU codenamed TU116, which has 1024 Shader Processing Units, 64 TMUs, 32 ROPs and 16 SMs. The central unit runs at 930 MHz and goes up to 1125 MHz in Boost mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR5 memory through a 128-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1000MHz, or 8GHz effective. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 30W the GTX 1650 Max-Q is averagely resource-intensive and will fairly significantly reduce laptop battery life at full load. System Suggestions GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1600x900. We recommend a mid-range Processor and at least 16GB of RAM for optimal performance. | Overview GeForce GTX 770M is a Performance Mobile Graphics Card based on the first revision of the Kepler Architecture. Architecture The Kepler Architecture was NVIDIA's big step to power efficiency. Each Stream Multiprocessor (SMX) now hosts 192 Shader Processing Units - against the 48 of older Fermi Architecture, and has been redesigned being now clocked at the same speed of the Central Unit. This means they are more energy efficient and will consequently lead to cooler operating temperatures. However, it also means they are weaker. It can be said that one Fermi SMX is as fast as 2 Kepler SMXs. Additionally, and not available in all GPUs, Kepler also introduced the Boost Clock Feature. The Boost Clock is an even higher Clock Speed activated when in gaming mode and becomes the effective speed of the GPU. GPU It equips a GPU Codenamed Kepler GK106-N14E-GS-A1 which has 5 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 960 Shader Processing Units, 80 TMUs and 24 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 811MHz. Memory The GPU accesses a 3GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 192-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 1002MHz. Features DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for SLI, Kepler Boost, Optimus, CUDA, OpenCL, DirectCompute, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 75W, it is suited for large laptops. Performance GeForce GTX 770M is essentially a fast GeForce GTX 675MX. Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is slightly better than the older GeForce GTX 675MX. System Suggestions We recommend a Powerful Processor (Intel Core i7 Mobile) and 8GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GTX 770M. |
