In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Super are noticeably better than the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary.

The RX 5700 XT has a 330 MHz higher core clock speed than the RTX 2080 Ti, but the RTX 2080 Ti has 128 more Texture Mapping Units than the RX 5700 XT. As a result, the RTX 2080 Ti exhibits a 120 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the RX 5700 XT. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The RX 5700 XT has a 330 MHz higher core clock speed than the RTX 2080 Ti, but the RTX 2080 Ti has 32 more Render Output Units than the RX 5700 XT. As a result, the RTX 2080 Ti exhibits a 22.1 GPixel/s better Pixel Fill Rate than the RX 5700 XT. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The RX 5700 XT was released over three years more recently than the RTX 2080 Ti, and so the RX 5700 XT is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the RTX 2080 Ti when running the latest games.

The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Super requires 280 Watts to run and the Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary requires 225 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 650 Watts for the RTX 2080 Ti and a PSU with at least 600 Watts for the RX 5700 XT. The RTX 2080 Ti requires 55 Watts more than the RX 5700 XT to run. The difference is significant enough that the RTX 2080 Ti may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the RX 5700 XT.

Mini ReviewOverview The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Super is a rumoured RTX 20 Series graphics card and considered an Enthusiast graphics card based on the Turing architecture. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. GPU It is rumoured this equips a GPU Codenamed Turing TU102 which has 4608 Shader Processing Units, 288 TMUs, and 96 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1350MHz and goes up to 1750MHz in Boost mode. It also has 576 Tensor Cores for AI purposes and 72 RT Cores for real-time ray-tracing. Memory The GPU accesses a 12GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory through a 384-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 2000MHz, or 16GHz effective. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 280W, it requires at least a 650W PSU with two 8-pin power connectors.
