In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 3850 AGP are noticeably better than the AMD Radeon HD 6550D.

The Radeon HD 6550D was released over three years more recently than the HD 3850, and so the Radeon HD 6550D is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the HD 3850 when running the latest games.

The Radeon HD 6550D and the Radeon HD 3850 AGP have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

Mini ReviewRadeon HD 6550D is an integrated GPU in one of AMD's processors. It's part of the high-end class GPUS of this Series. It supports DirectX 11 and uses system memory and it only supports DDR3-1866 memory type.
The performance, is obviously, limited but demanding games should still be playable from low to medium settings (depending on the resolution + DirectX version used), while very demanding games might not run at all or might require very reduced settings. All in all, even though it supports DirectX 11, most likely games that use it are unplayable to the lowest settings or only playable on the lowest settings because every game out there using DirectX 11 is either demanding or very demanding.
Radeon HD 3850 AGP is a variant of the high-end Radeon HD 3850 based on the 55nm, second unified shader architecture, R600. Check its page to know more about its Core.
Compared to Radeon HD 3850, it features twice as much video memory and an AGP 8X Bus Interface. Benchmarks indicate the double sized frame buffer benefits this GPU largely and so its performance is up to 8% better than the reference Radeon HD 3850.
Today's modern games should run fluently at medium settings but with modest resolutions. DirectX 11 games aren't supported.
