In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB are marginally better than the AMD Radeon RX 5500 4GB.

The RX 5500 has a 413 MHz higher core clock speed but 16 fewer Texture Mapping Units than the RX 580. The lower TMU count doesn't matter, though, as altogether the RX 5500 manages to provide 32.8 GTexel/s better texturing performance. Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The Radeon RX 5500 4GB and the Radeon RX 580 4GB have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

Architecture
It is powered by the 7nm Navi GPU, which has 1408 shader processing units, [xx] TMUs and [xx]] ROPs.

GPU
The central unit runs at 1670 MHz and goes up to 1845 MHz when the boost mode is triggered.

Memory
The RX 5500 4GB comes with a 4GB frame buffer of GDDR6 video memory through a 128-bit memory interface, while the memory clock operates at 1750MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 110W, it requires at least a 500W PSU with one available 8-pin connector.

Performance
The Radeon RX 5500 4GB been built as a Low/Mid performance graphics card for 2019. Its direct competitor is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super. It will run most triple AAA titles released during 2019 on medium to high graphics at 1080p screen resolution. With adjustments and lowering anti aliasing this RX 5500 4GB card can confidently maintain 60+ frames per seconds on high graphic settings at 1080p. Moving to 1440p screen resolution and the graphics card may need to be adjusted down to medium in order to maintain 50-60+ fps.

System Suggestions
The Radeon RX 5500 4GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a mid range R5 Ryzen processor and at least 8GB of system memory for optimal gaming performance from the RX 5500 4GB.
Overview
First off we should point out that this is not the new AMD Vega graphics card line. The new AMD Radeon RX 500 series are an uprated version of the RX 400 series that they are replacing. This RX 580 4GB graphics card is one of the two more powerful models from the new AMD Radeon RX 500 Series.

This RX 580 is the 4GB version and there is also the RX580 8GB version available, offering more VRAM for your gaming performance.

Architecture
It equips a GPU codenamed Polaris 20 XTX, which has 2304 shader processing units, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs.

The RX 580 4GB central processing unit runs at 1257MHz and goes up to 1365MHz when in boost and turbo mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 4GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock operates at 2000MHz.

Power Consumption
The RX 580 4GB has a power TDP requirement of 150W. This means it will require at least a 500W PSU with one dedicated 8-pin connector.

Performance
Early benchmarks indicate that the AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB will be similar in performance to the Nvidia GTX 1060 in terms of gaming performance. This puts the RX 580 4GB about 8% faster than the model it replaced, the AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB. Comparing the RX 580 to RX 570 we see 1440p frame rates around 8-15% better with the RX580 version

The new Radeon RX 580 4GB releases on the 18th April 2017 and is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440. We recommend a high-end processor, like the new Ryzen R5 and at least 8GB of RAM for optimal gaming performance.
