In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon RX 5700 MSI Mech OC 8GB are significantly better than the AMD Radeon RX 570X 8GB.
The RX 5700 has a 297 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Texture Mapping Units than the RX 570X. This results in the RX 5700 providing 61.5 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The RX 5700 has a 297 MHz higher core clock speed and 32 more Render Output Units than the RX 570X. This results in the RX 5700 providing 56.4 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The RX 5700 was released over a year more recently than the RX 570X, and so the RX 5700 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the RX 570X.
Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.
The Radeon RX 5700 MSI Mech OC 8GB and the Radeon RX 570X 8GB have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.
The RX 5700 has 224 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the RX 570X, which means that the memory performance of the RX 5700 is massively better than the RX 570X.
The Radeon RX 5700 MSI Mech OC 8GB has 2304 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon RX 570X 8GB has 2048. However, the actual shader performance of the RX 5700 is 2621 and the actual shader performance of the RX 570X is 2548. The RX 5700 having 73 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the RX 5700 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the RX 570X.
The RX 5700 transistor size technology is 7 nm (nanometers) smaller than the RX 570X. This means that the RX 5700 is expected to run very slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the RX 570X.
The Radeon RX 5700 MSI Mech OC 8GB requires 225 Watts to run and the Radeon RX 570X 8GB requires 120 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 750 Watts for the RX 5700 and a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the RX 570X. The RX 5700 requires 105 Watts more than the RX 570X to run. The difference is significant enough that the RX 5700 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the RX 570X.

Mini Review | Overview The AMD Radeon RX 5700 MSI Mech OC 8GB is an Enthusiast gaming Graphics Card based on the first (1.0) Revision of the RDNA Architecture. Architecture The Navi 10 XL GPU offers support for GDDR6 Memory, DirectX 12.0, Vulkan 1.0, and OpenGL 4.5. This variant of the Navi 10 XL GPU features 36 Compute Units activated, offering 2304 Shader Processing Units, 144 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The GPU features a 1465 MHz base clock speed and up to 1725 MHz with boost clock, making it an estimated 15% faster than a GeForce RTX 2060. This puts its predicted performance roughly in line with the Radeon RX Vega 64. GPU The Central Unit is clocked at 1465 MHz, rising to 1750 MHz with boost clock enabled.. Memory: Speed The GPU is equipped with high-speed GDDR6 and accesses the Frame Buffer through a 256-bit memory interface, providing total memory bandwidth of 448 GB/s. Memory: Frame Buffer The GPU can fill up a Memory Pool of up to 8GB. Under most circumstances, this only proves useful in certain 3D Games whose Settings Require Large Amounts of Memory. However, the GPU itself is aimed for 4K Gaming, In some limited scenarios, 8GB might be a bottleneck and Performance could be better were the Frame Buffer larger, however this would only be an issue in the most demanding games. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 225W, it requires at least a 750W PSU with one available 8+6-pin connector. Performance The AMD Radeon RX 5700 MSI Mech OC 8GB competes with GeForce RTX 2070 8GB, which is available for $499. Specs currently available suggest the AMD Radeon RX 5700 MSI Mech OC 8GB performance should be in the same region as the Radeon RX Vega 64. System Suggestions The AMD Radeon RX 5700 MSI Mech OC 8GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 3840 x2160 (4K). For the most demanding AAA games it should be ideally suited to 1440p. We recommend a Very Strong Processor and at least 16GB of RAM for Optimal Performance. | Overview The new AMD Radeon RX 500X series are an OEM version of the current RX 500 series. This RX 570X graphics card is one of the higher performance models from the new AMD Radeon RX 500X Series. The AMD RX 570X 8GB graphics card released in April 2018 as an AMD performance gaming graphics card. This card competes against Nvidia's GTX 1050 Ti. As a Polaris refresh, the RX 570X runs at a slightly faster clock speed than the RX 470. The specs of the Radeon RX 500X series graphics cards are identical to the standard Radeon RX 500 series. Architecture It is powered by the 14nm Pollaris 20 GPU, which has 2048 shader processing units, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs. GPU The central unit runs at 1168MHz and goes up to 1244MHz, when the boost mode is triggered. Memory The RX570X comes with a 8GB frame buffer of GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface, while the memory clock operates at 1750MHz. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 120W, it requires at least a 400W PSU with one available 6-pin connector. Performance The AMD RX 570X 8GB has been built as a Mid/High performance graphics card for 2018. It will run most triple AAA titles released during 2018 on medium to high graphics at 1080p screen resolution. Performance is exactly the same as the Radeon RX 570. With adjustments and lowering anti aliasing this RX570 8GB card can confidently maintain 60+ frames per seconds on high graphic settings at 1080p. Moving to 1440p screen resolution and the graphics card may need to be adjusted down to medium in order to maintain 50-60+ fps. System Suggestions The RX 570X 8GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a mid range Ryzen 5 processor and at least 8GB of system memory for optimal gaming performance from the RX 570X. |
