In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Gainward Ghost OC 6GB are noticeably better than the AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB.

The GTX 1660 has a 362 MHz higher core clock speed than the RX 570, but the RX 570 has 40 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 1660. As a result, the RX 570 exhibits a 14.9 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 1660. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 1660 has a 362 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Render Output Units than the RX 570. This results in the GTX 1660 providing 36 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 1660 was released over a year more recently than the RX 570, and so the GTX 1660 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the RX 570.

Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The GTX 1660 has 2048 MB more video memory than the RX 570, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. However, the overall memory performance is about the same.

The RX 570 has 31.9 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 1660, which means that the memory performance of the RX 570 is noticeably better than the GTX 1660.

The GeForce GTX 1660 Gainward Ghost OC 6GB has 1408 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon RX 570 4GB has 2048. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 1660 is 2577 and the actual shader performance of the RX 570 is 2548. The GTX 1660 having 29 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 1660 delivers a slightly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the RX 570.

The GTX 1660 transistor size technology is 2 nm (nanometers) smaller than the RX 570. This means that the GTX 1660 is expected to run very slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the RX 570.

The GeForce GTX 1660 Gainward Ghost OC 6GB requires 130 Watts to run and the Radeon RX 570 4GB requires 120 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the GTX 1660 and a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the RX 570. The GTX 1660 requires 10 Watts more than the RX 570 to run. The difference is not significant enough for the GTX 1660 to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the RX 570.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
The GeForce GTX 1660 Gainward Ghost OC 6GB is an entry to mid-level Nvidia graphics card which launched on March 14th, 2019. The GeForce GTX 1660 is designed to compete against AMD's more affordable gaming cards such as the RX 570 and the RX 580, and replaces the outgoing GTX 1060. The GeForce GTX 1660 Gainward Ghost OC 6GB is a dual-slot graphics card with a dual-fan cooling solution, Expertool II compatibility, and is certified VR-Ready. This graphics card has average overclocking potential.

Architecture
The Turing GPU architecture aims for 30-50% as much performance as the previous-gen Pascal Architecture.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed Turing TU116, more specifically the TU166-300-A1, which has 22 SM activated and thus 1408 Shader Processing Units, 88 TMUs, and 48 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1530 MHz and goes up to 1830 MHz with the Boost Clock, providing a small 3% overclock versus the reference model.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 6GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5 through a 192-bit memory interface, while the memory clock Operates at 2001MHz, or 8GHz effective.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 130W, this graphics card requires one 8-pin power connector and a minimum of a 450W power supply.

Performance
The GeForce GTX 1660 will enable medium to high graphics performance on modern AAA 2018 released games. Although there will be variations on this frame rate we expect this card to deliver around 50+ FPS on High graphics settings at 1080p screen resolution.
Comparatively, this card will have slightly faster performance than the GTX 1060.

System Suggestions
The GeForce GTX 1660 Gainward Ghost OC 6GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 2560x1440, so our recommendation would be to use 1920x1080 in order to get the most out of your settings. We recommend a high-end processor such as the i5-8500 and 12GB of RAM for optimal performance.
Overview
First off we should point out that this is not the new AMD Vega graphics card line. These new AMD Radeon RX 500 series cards are an uprated version of the RX 400 series that they are replacing. This RX 570 graphics card is one of the higher performance models from the new AMD Radeon RX 500 Series.

The AMD RX 570 4GB graphics card released in April 2017 as an AMD performance gaming graphics card. This card competes against Nvidia's GTX 1050 Ti and replaces the older Radeon RX 470. As a Polaris refresh, the RX 570 runs at a slightly faster clock speed than the RX 470.

Architecture
It is powered by the 14nm Pollaris 20 GPU, which has 2048 shader processing units, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs.

GPU
The central unit runs at 1168MHz and goes up to 1244MHz, when the boost mode is triggered.

Memory
The RX570 comes with a 4GB frame buffer of GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface, while the memory clock operates at 1750MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 120W, it requires at least a 400W PSU with one available 6-pin connector.

Performance
The AMD RX 570 has been built as a Mid/High performance graphics card for 2017. It will run most triple AAA titles released during 2017 on medium to high graphics at 1080p screen resolution. With adjustments and lowering anti aliasing this RX570 4GB card can confidently maintain 60+ frames per seconds on high graphic settings at 1080p. Moving to 1440p screen resolution and the graphics card may need to be adjusted down to medium in order to maintain 50-60+ fps.

System Suggestions
The RX 570 is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a mid range R5 Ryzen processor and at least 8GB of system memory for optimal gaming performance from the RX 570.
