In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon R7 7860K are very slightly better than the Intel UHD Graphics 630.

The Radeon R7 7860K has a 407 MHz higher core clock speed and 9 more Texture Mapping Units than the UHD Graphics 630. This results in the Radeon R7 7860K providing 16.1 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The Radeon R7 7860K has a 407 MHz higher core clock speed and 5 more Render Output Units than the UHD Graphics 630. This results in the Radeon R7 7860K providing 5 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The UHD Graphics 630 was released over a year more recently than the Radeon R7 7860K, and so the UHD Graphics 630 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the Radeon R7 7860K.

The UHD Graphics 630 and the Radeon R7 7860K have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The Radeon R7 7860K has 34.1 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the UHD Graphics 630, which means that the memory performance of the Radeon R7 7860K is noticeably better than the UHD Graphics 630.

The UHD Graphics 630 has 184 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon R7 7860K has 512. However, the actual shader performance of the UHD Graphics 630 is 212 and the actual shader performance of the Radeon R7 7860K is 252. The Radeon R7 7860K having 40 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the Radeon R7 7860K delivers a noticeably smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the UHD Graphics 630.

The UHD Graphics 630 transistor size technology is 14 nm (nanometers) smaller than the Radeon R7 7860K. This means that the UHD Graphics 630 is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the Radeon R7 7860K.

The UHD Graphics 630 requires 15 Watts to run and the Radeon R7 7860K requires 65 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the Radeon R7 7860K, but we do not have a recommended PSU wattage for the UHD Graphics 630. The Radeon R7 7860K requires 50 Watts more than the UHD Graphics 630 to run. The difference is significant enough that the Radeon R7 7860K may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the UHD Graphics 630.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview Intel UHD Graphics 630 are Integrated Graphics in some of Intel's Coffee Lake Processors. Architecture The Coffee Lake Architecture succeeds the Kaby Lake Architecture and aims for increased CPU and Graphics Performance, within the same Power Requirements. It includes support for DirectX 12.1, OpenCL 2.1 and OpenGL 4.6, as well as DDR4 Memory Support. GPU The central unit initially runs at 300MHz and goes up to 1150MHz in Turbo Mode. The GPU Codenamed GT2 offers 184 Shader Processing Units, 23 TMUs and 3 ROPs Memory Speed The operating memory clock depends on which speed the System's RAM is running and which memory type is installed and is ultimately limited by the highest operating speed that the processor supports. Depending on whether or not the System's RAM is Dual-Channeled, it can access either a 64-bit or 128-bit Memory Interface. Memory Frame Buffer The GPU Shares the System's RAM which varies according to the System. The GPU may reserve up to 1.7GB.Radeon R7 7860K is an integrated Graphics Card in the APU A10-7860K.

It is based on the Graphics Core Next Architecture and offers 512 Shader Processing Units, 32 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The memory bus-width will depend on whether or not the system's RAM is dual-channeled and the operating memory clock, on its frequency. Thus, it can be either 64-bit or 128-bit and up to 1067MHz.
The Graphics Card also shares the processor's L2 Cache of 4MB, reducing the impact of its low memory bandwidth.

Overall, the Graphics Card's performance depends a lot on the system configuration. Best case scenario, expect performance superior to Intel's powerful Iris Pro Graphics 5200 and almost similar to the dedicated Radeon HD 7750.
The card is thus suited for 720p gaming and most modern demanding games can be played at least on medium settings.
