In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 EVGA SC GAMING ACX 3.0 8GB Edition are marginally better than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 3GB GDDR6.

The GTX 1070 has a 229 MHz higher core clock speed and the same number of Texture Mapping Units as the RTX 2060. This results in the GTX 1070 providing 27.5 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 1070 has a 229 MHz higher core clock speed and 17 more Render Output Units than the RTX 2060. This results in the GTX 1070 providing 37.8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

Mini ReviewOverview GeForce RTX 2060 3GB GDDR6 is a mid-range GeForce 20 Series graphics card and considered a great price to performance graphics card based on the Turing architecture. Architecture The Turing architecture represents a process shrink down to 12nm compared to 14nm Pascal. The Turing architecture provides the world's first consumer support for real-time ray-tracing technology, or RTX. The GeForce RTX 2060 does support real-time ray-tracing and excels at 1080p screen resolution. GPU It equips a Turing GPU codenamed TU106 which has 1920 Shader Processing Units, 120 TMUs and 47 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1365 MHz and goes up to 1680 MHz, in Boost mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 3GB frame buffer of first-gen GDDR6 memory running through a 192-bit memory interface, while the Memory clock operates at 1500MHz, or 14GHz effective. The limited video memory available means the RTX 2060 3GB will struggle at 1440p resolution. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 150W, it requires at least a 450W PSU with an 8-pin power connector.
