Mini ReviewMobility Radeon HD 5870 is a high-end GPU based on the 40nm, Terascale 2 architecture.
It's based on the Broadway XT Core and offers 800 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs, on 128-bit memory interface of fast GDDR5. The central unit runs at 700MHz and the memory clock operates at up to 1000MHz. It consumes no more than 50 Watt.
Benchmarks indicate most modern demanding games of 2007-2010, such as Crysis, BF2 and Metro 2033 were playable at high settings smoothly. Therefore, today's modern demanding games should be playable at least on the medium preset, using a 720p+ resolution.
