In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Zotac AMP! Xtreme are significantly better than the AMD Radeon HD 7950 Boost Edition Crossfire.

The GTX 1070 has a 782 MHz higher core clock speed but 104 fewer Texture Mapping Units than the HD 7950. The lower TMU count doesn't matter, though, as altogether the GTX 1070 manages to provide 5.4 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 1070 has a 782 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD 7950 and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the GTX 1070 providing 50 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

It equips a GPU Codenamed P104-200-A1, which is a first gen Pascal GPU and has 15 SM activated, offering 1920 shader processing units, 120 TMUs and 64 ROPs.

The AMP! Extreme central unit runs at 1632MHz and goes up to 1835MHz, under the Boost Mode, higher than the reference card.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 8GB frame buffer of Fast GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock Operates at 2052MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 150W, it requires at least a 500W PSU with one available 8-pin connector.
