In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon R5 M335 4GB are very slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce 710M.

The R5 M335 has a 295 MHz higher core clock speed and 4 more Texture Mapping Units than the GeForce 710M. This results in the R5 M335 providing 9 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The R5 M335 has a 295 MHz higher core clock speed than the GeForce 710M and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the R5 M335 providing 2.4 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The R5 M335 was released over a year more recently than the GeForce 710M, and so the R5 M335 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GeForce 710M.

The R5 M335 has 3072 MB more video memory than the GeForce 710M, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the R5 M335 also has superior memory performance overall.

The R5 M335 has 3.2 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GeForce 710M, which means that the memory performance of the R5 M335 is marginally better than the GeForce 710M.

The Radeon R5 M335 4GB has 320 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce 710M has 96. However, the actual shader performance of the R5 M335 is 291 and the actual shader performance of the GeForce 710M is 149. The R5 M335 having 142 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the R5 M335 delivers a marginally smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GeForce 710M.

The Radeon R5 M335 4GB requires 25 Watts to run and the GeForce 710M requires 15 Watts. The R5 M335 requires 10 Watts more than the GeForce 710M to run. The difference is not significant enough for the R5 M335 to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the GeForce 710M.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
Radeon R5 M335 4GB is an Entry-Level Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Graphics Core Next Architecture.

Radeon R5 M335 4GB Equips the GPU Codenamed Exo XT which is a GCN 1.1 GPU and thus offers Support for Feature Level DirectX 11.2 and the TrueAudio Technology.
Exo XT has 5 Compute Units Activated and thus offers 320 Shader Processing Units, 20 TMUs and 8 ROPs.

The central unit runs at 1070MHz.

Memory: Speed
The GPU is equipped with DDR3 and Accesses the Frame Buffer through a 64-bit Memory Interface. The Memory Clock Operates at 1100MHz.

Memory: Frame Buffer
The GPU can fill up a Memory Pool of up to 4GB.

The Performance of Radeon R5 M335 4GB is only Very Slightly above the Radeon R5 M330 2GB.

System Suggestions
We recommend a Middle-Class Processor and 4GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
GeForce 710M is a entry-level Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Fermi Architecture.

The Fermi Architecture is manufactured with a 40nm Technology and uses a technique known as Hot Clocking: The Shaders are clocked twice as fast as the Central Unit. While this leads to a reasonable performance boost, it causes enormous amounts of energy dissipation, leading, ultimately, to a significantly higher operating temperature.
Fermi is also the first GPU architecture with fully cached memory access which increases memory performance.

It equips a GPU Codenamed GF117-N14M-GL which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 96 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 775MHz. Additionally, GF117 is built using a 28nm technology.

The GPU accesses a 1GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 64-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.

DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Optimus, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 15W, it is suited for small laptops.

GeForce GT 710M is essentially a fast GeForce GT 620M.
Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is slightly below the older GeForce GT 540M.

System Suggestions
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3 Mobile) and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce 710M.
