In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GT 220 v2 Galaxy 1GB Edition are significantly better than the Nvidia Quadro FX 3450.

The GT 220 was released over three years more recently than the Quadro FX 3450, and so the GT 220 is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the Quadro FX 3450 when running the latest games.

The GT 220 has 768 MB more video memory than the Quadro FX 3450, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. However, overall, the Quadro FX 3450 has superior memory performance.

The Quadro FX 3450 has 57.6 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GT 220, which means that the memory performance of the Quadro FX 3450 is much better than the GT 220.

The GeForce GT 220 v2 Galaxy 1GB Edition has 48 Shader Processing Units and the Quadro FX 3450 has 12. However, the actual shader performance of the GT 220 is 60 and the actual shader performance of the Quadro FX 3450 is 5. The GT 220 having 55 better shader performance is not particularly notable, as altogether the Quadro FX 3450 performs better when taking into account other relevant data.

The GeForce GT 220 v2 Galaxy 1GB Edition requires 58 Watts to run and the Quadro FX 3450 requires 83 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the GT 220. The Quadro FX 3450 requires 25 Watts more than the GT 220 to run. The difference is not significant enough for the Quadro FX 3450 to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the GT 220.

Performance
Performance is Lower than the Reference GeForce GT 220 v2, especially at Higher Resolutions.
Quadro FX 3450 is a professional GPU whose purpose is for professional applications such as Adobe Photoshop and video editing software.
It's based on the NV41 GL Chip offering 12 Pixel Shaders. Compared to Quadro FX 3400 it features less Pixel Shaders but they are higher clocked and the memory bandwidth is considerably higher to the 1000MHz memory clock. Its performance, should be a little higher but still on level with the predecessor though consuming less power, due to the lower amount of Pixel Shaders.
