In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 PNY Enthusiast 4GB OC Edition are massively better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 Point of View TGT Beast 1GB Edition.

The GTX 770 has a 204 MHz higher core clock speed and 72 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 460. This results in the GTX 770 providing 87.7 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 770 has a 204 MHz higher core clock speed than the GTX 460 and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the GTX 770 providing 6.5 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 770 was released over a year more recently than the GTX 460, and so the GTX 770 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GTX 460.

The GTX 770 has 3072 MB more video memory than the GTX 460, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GTX 770 also has superior memory performance overall.

The GTX 770 has 95.8 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 460, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 770 is massively better than the GTX 460.

The GeForce GTX 460 Point of View TGT Beast 1GB Edition has 336 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 770 PNY Enthusiast 4GB OC Edition has 1536. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 460 is 575 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 770 is 1706. The GTX 770 having 1131 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 770 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GTX 460.

The GTX 770 transistor size technology is 12 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GTX 460. This means that the GTX 770 is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GTX 460.

The GeForce GTX 460 Point of View TGT Beast 1GB Edition requires 160 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 770 PNY Enthusiast 4GB OC Edition requires 230 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the GTX 460 and a PSU with at least 600 Watts for the GTX 770. The GTX 770 requires 70 Watts more than the GTX 460 to run. The difference is significant enough that the GTX 770 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GTX 460.

Benchmarks Indicate a 17% Performance Boost over the Reference GeForce GTX 460.
GeForce GTX 770 PNY Enthusiast 4GB OC Edition is a special edition of GeForce GTX 770.
This edition comes with a custom dual fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 770 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 1046MHz to 1059MHz while its boost clock is now of 1111MHz and its frame buffer was doubled to 4GB, which will prove useless. The memory clock was left untouched.
Benchmarks indicate a 4% performance boost when compared to the reference card.
