In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 2GB SLI are noticeably better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II OC Edition.

The GTX 950 has a 44 MHz higher core clock speed than the GTX 670, but the GTX 670 has 16 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 950. As a result, the GTX 670 exhibits a 11.5 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 950. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 950 has a 44 MHz higher core clock speed and 32 more Render Output Units than the GTX 670. This results in the GTX 950 providing 34.1 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

GeForce GTX 950 2GB SLI is a solution of two GeForce GTX 950 2GB put together using NVIDIA's SLI technology.

Architecture
The Second variant of the Maxwell Architecture, despite being also manufactured with a 28nm technology, has an extremely large L2 Cache and features a Third Generation Delta Color Compression which allows NVIDIA to produce Graphics Cards with relatively small memory data transfer rates, without causing too much impact on the overall performance. Furthermore, the Shaders have been redesigned and are both more powerful and energy efficient.

GPU
It consists of 2 GPUs codenamed GM206-250 which, together, offer 1536 Shader Processing Units, 96 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The central unit runs at 1127MHz and goes up to 1178MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
Each GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 1653MHz.

Power Consumption
Power Consumption is around 180W.

Performance
Gaming benchmarks prove that at 1920x1080, the best suited resolution, GeForce GTX 950 2GB SLI is only around 5% slower than the older GeForce GTX 780, meaning a single GeForce GTX 970 is still considerably faster.

The new features include an increase in the core-clock that went from 915MHz to 980MHz while the Turbo Boost is now of 1058MHz. A 20% more effective cooler is also included.
The performance boost is significant and around 5% when compared to the standard GTX 670.
