In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Intel HD i7 6700K are marginally better than the Nvidia GeForce GTS 150.
The GeForce GTS 150 has a 388 MHz higher core clock speed and 48 more Texture Mapping Units than the HD i7 6700K. This results in the GeForce GTS 150 providing 41.6 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The GeForce GTS 150 has a 388 MHz higher core clock speed and 8 more Render Output Units than the HD i7 6700K. This results in the GeForce GTS 150 providing 9 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The HD i7 6700K was released over three years more recently than the GeForce GTS 150, and so the HD i7 6700K is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the GeForce GTS 150 when running the latest games.
The GeForce GTS 150 has 1024 MB video memory, but the HD i7 6700K does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.
The HD i7 6700K has 24 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTS 150 has 128. However, the actual shader performance of the HD i7 6700K is 221 and the actual shader performance of the GeForce GTS 150 is 236. The GeForce GTS 150 having 15 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GeForce GTS 150 delivers a significantly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the HD i7 6700K.
The HD i7 6700K transistor size technology is 41 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GeForce GTS 150. This means that the HD i7 6700K is expected to run much cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GeForce GTS 150. While they exhibit similar graphical performance, the HD i7 6700K should consume less power than the GeForce GTS 150.
The HD i7 6700K requires 91 Watts to run and the GeForce GTS 150 requires 141 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the HD i7 6700K and a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the GeForce GTS 150. The GeForce GTS 150 requires 50 Watts more than the HD i7 6700K to run. The difference is significant enough that the GeForce GTS 150 may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the HD i7 6700K.

Mini Review | Overview Intel HD i7 6700K is the specific version of Intel HD Graphics 530 Desktop that is integrated in the Core i7-6700K Processor. Architecture The Skylake Core includes support for DirectX 12.1, OpenCL 2.0 and OpenGL 4.4. Additionally, it also supports DDR4 Memory. GPU It equips a GPU Codenamed GT2 which offers 24 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit Initially Runs at 350MHz and goes up to 1150MHz, in Turbo Mode. Memory The GPU Shares the System's RAM which varies from laptop to laptop. Typically, the GPU reserves 1.7GB. Depending on whether or not the system's RAM is Dual-Channeled, it can access either a 64-bit or 128-bit memory interface. The operating memory clock also depends on the at which speed the System's RAM is running and is limited by the highest operating speed that the Processor supports. In this case, it is 1067MHz. It is then obvious the Memory Bandwidth depends on a lot of factors and thus this Graphics Card performance may vary heavily from system to system. Performance Gaming benchmarks put its performance almost on level with a dedicated GeForce 920M. System Suggestions Intel HD i7 6700K is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1366x768. We recommend a Decent Processor and 4GB of RAM for Optimal Performance. | GeForce GTS 150 is a high-end GPU based on the 2009, 55nm, first-generation unified architecture. It's based on the G92 Core and offers 128 Shader Processing Units, 64 TMUs and 16 ROPs, on a 256-bit memory interface of standard DDR3. The central unit runs at 738MHz and the memory clock operates at up to 1000MHz. It's therefore a renamed GeForce 9800 GTX+ with a lower memory clock - which will not affect its performance overall. Today's modern demanding games are playable at medium (some high settings) but DirectX 11 games aren't supported and extremely demanding games will require reduced further reduced settings to be played optimally. |
