In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti Zotac 6GB Edition are very slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 SLI.

The GTX 770 has a 46 MHz higher core clock speed and 80 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 980 Ti. This results in the GTX 770 providing 91.8 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 770 has a 46 MHz higher core clock speed than the GTX 980 Ti, but the GTX 980 Ti has 32 more Render Output Units than the GTX 770. As a result, the GTX 980 Ti exhibits a 29.1 GPixel/s better Pixel Fill Rate than the GTX 770. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 980 Ti was released over a year more recently than the GTX 770, and so the GTX 980 Ti is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GTX 770.

Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The GTX 980 Ti has 2048 MB more video memory than the GTX 770, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. However, the overall memory performance is about the same.

The GTX 770 has 111.9 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 980 Ti, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 770 is massively better than the GTX 980 Ti.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti Zotac 6GB Edition has 2816 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 770 SLI has 3072. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 980 Ti is 4091 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 770 is 3333. The GTX 980 Ti having 758 better shader performance is not particularly notable, as altogether the GTX 770 performs better when taking into account other relevant data.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti Zotac 6GB Edition requires 250 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 770 SLI requires 400 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 600 Watts for the GTX 980 Ti and a PSU with at least 750 Watts for the GTX 770. The GTX 770 requires 150 Watts more than the GTX 980 Ti to run. The difference is significant enough that the GTX 770 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GTX 980 Ti.

Without Any Overclock Out of The Box, GeForce GTX 980 Ti Zotac 6GB Edition is as fast as the reference GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB.
GeForce GTX 770 SLI is a combination of 2 GeForce GTX 770 put together using NVIDIA's SLI technology.
Together, this combination offers 3072 Shader Processing Units, 256 TMUs and 64 ROPs. This, on a 256-bit memory interface, per card, of fast GDDR5. While the central unit runs at 1046MHz and goes up to 1085MHz, in Turbo Mode, the memory clock operates at 1752MHz.
Best case scenario, this combination performs better than dual-graphics GeForce GTX 690 but ultimately, its performance depends on the driver support and on the 3D application.
Therefore, and paired with a powerful processor, all demanding games are playable at the highest settings. Still, this combination might surpass the 450W barrier of TDP and so it will require a very powerful PSU.
