In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia Quadro Plex 7000 are massively better than the Nvidia GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition.

The GT 730 has a 328 MHz higher core clock speed than the Quadro Plex 7000, but the Quadro Plex 7000 has 112 more Texture Mapping Units than the GT 730. As a result, the Quadro Plex 7000 exhibits a 59.1 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GT 730. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GT 730 has a 328 MHz higher core clock speed than the Quadro Plex 7000, but the Quadro Plex 7000 has 88 more Render Output Units than the GT 730. As a result, the Quadro Plex 7000 exhibits a 47.9 GPixel/s better Pixel Fill Rate than the GT 730. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GT 730 was released over three years more recently than the Quadro Plex 7000, and so the GT 730 is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the Quadro Plex 7000 when running the latest games.

The Quadro Plex 7000 has 10240 MB more video memory than the GT 730, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the Quadro Plex 7000 also has superior memory performance overall.

The Quadro Plex 7000 has 248 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GT 730, which means that the memory performance of the Quadro Plex 7000 is massively better than the GT 730.

The GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition has 384 Shader Processing Units and the Quadro Plex 7000 has 1024. However, the actual shader performance of the GT 730 is 346 and the actual shader performance of the Quadro Plex 7000 is 1176. The Quadro Plex 7000 having 830 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the Quadro Plex 7000 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GT 730.

The GT 730 transistor size technology is 12 nm (nanometers) smaller than the Quadro Plex 7000. This means that the GT 730 is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the Quadro Plex 7000.

The GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition requires 38 Watts to run and the Quadro Plex 7000 requires 600 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the GT 730 and a PSU with at least 900 Watts for the Quadro Plex 7000. The Quadro Plex 7000 requires 562 Watts more than the GT 730 to run. The difference is significant enough that the Quadro Plex 7000 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GT 730.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition is a special edition of NVIDIA's middle-class GeForce GT 730 v2, created by Gigabyte.

Overclock: Central Unit
The Central Unit remains clocked at the same speed.

Overclock: Memory Clock
The Operating Memory Clock remains the same while the Frame Buffer was doubled to 2GB: a gimmick which doesn't yield any performance boost and can be considered market to lure consumers into paying more for the same product.

Cooling Solution
The Cooling System has been replaced by Gigabyte's custom-designed 80 mm cooler, with air flow optimized cover and aluminum base. The cooler can dissipate heat effectively from the GPU while keeping the fan at lower speed and noise.

Performance
Without any overclocking out of the box, GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition is as fast as the reference GeForce GT 730 v2.
Quadro Plex 7000 is an enthusiast professional card based on the 40nm, Fermi architecture.

It's based on 2 Fermi GF100 GPUs and thus offers 1024 Shader Processing Units, 128 TMUs and 96 ROPs, on a 768-bit memory interface of fast GDDR5. The central unit runs at 574MHz and the memory clock operates at up to 750MHz. It has a L2 Cache of 1536KB and a rated board TDP of 600 Watts.

Despite exhibiting similarities to GeForce GTX 590, due to being under-clocked and because Quadro Plex 7000's drivers are only certified for professional applications only, its gaming performance is up to 10% slower than GeForce GTX 590.
