In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition are noticeably better than the AMD Radeon HD 7730 v2.

The GT 730 has a 102 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD 7730, but the HD 7730 has 8 more Texture Mapping Units than the GT 730. As a result, the HD 7730 exhibits a 4.8 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GT 730. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GT 730 has a 102 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD 7730 and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the GT 730 providing 0.8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GT 730 was released over a year more recently than the HD 7730, and so the GT 730 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the HD 7730.

The GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition and the Radeon HD 7730 v2 have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The GT 730 has 11.2 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the HD 7730, which means that the memory performance of the GT 730 is slightly better than the HD 7730.

Both the GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition and the Radeon HD 7730 v2 have 384 Shader Processing Units. While the two GPUs have the same number of SPUs, the actual performance delivered by the GT 730 is 346 and by the HD 7730 is 261. Knowing that the shader performance of the GT 730 is superior, it is not necessary to examine the GPUs' respective Texture and Pixel Fill Rates.

The GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition requires 38 Watts to run and the Radeon HD 7730 v2 requires 47 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the GT 730 and a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the HD 7730. The HD 7730 requires 9 Watts more than the GT 730 to run. The difference is not significant enough for the HD 7730 to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the GT 730.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition is a special edition of NVIDIA's middle-class GeForce GT 730 v2, created by Gigabyte.

Overclock: Central Unit
The Central Unit remains clocked at the same speed.

Overclock: Memory Clock
The Operating Memory Clock remains the same while the Frame Buffer was doubled to 2GB: a gimmick which doesn't yield any performance boost and can be considered market to lure consumers into paying more for the same product.

Cooling Solution
The Cooling System has been replaced by Gigabyte's custom-designed 80 mm cooler, with air flow optimized cover and aluminum base. The cooler can dissipate heat effectively from the GPU while keeping the fan at lower speed and noise.

Performance
Without any overclocking out of the box, GeForce GT 730 v2 Gigabyte Rev 2.0 2GB Edition is as fast as the reference GeForce GT 730 v2.
Overview
Radeon HD 7730 v2 is a Fast-Middle-Class Graphics Card based on the First revision of the GCN Architecture.

Architecture
The GCN Architecture succeeds the 40nm Terascale Architecture. In addition to being produced with a 28nm Technology, the GCN Architecture adds other Technologies that allow for energy efficiency. For example, ZeroCore Power, a long idle power saving technology, allows the Graphics Cards to shut down by itself when the Monitor is turned off.
GCN also adds Improved Anisotropic Filtering, DirectX 11 Tessellation and the Partially Resident Textures (PRT) Technology, which enables future games to utilize ultra-high resolution textures with the same performance as today's small and often repetitive textures.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed Cape Verde LE which has 6 Compute Units activated and thus offers 384 Shader Processing Units, 24 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit Operates at 800MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and in no way benefits the GPU. The memory clock operates at 900MHz.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Crossfire, PowerTune Technology, Eyefinity, App Acceleration, HD3D, ZeroCore Power and other technologies.

Cooling Solution
The Cooling Solution consists of a Single-Fan.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 47W, it requires at least a 400W PSU and it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.

Performance
Gaming benchmarks put its performance somewhat below a GeForce GT 640.

System Suggestions
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3) and 8GB of RAM for a system with Radeon HD 7730 v2.
