In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce 920M 2GB are massively better than the Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M.
The GeForce 920M 2GB was released over three years more recently than the Quadro NVS 160M, and so the GeForce 920M 2GB is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the Quadro NVS 160M when running the latest games.
The GeForce 920M 2GB has 1792 MB more video memory than the Quadro NVS 160M, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GeForce 920M 2GB also has superior memory performance overall.
The GeForce 920M 2GB has 3.2 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the Quadro NVS 160M, which means that the memory performance of the GeForce 920M 2GB is marginally better than the Quadro NVS 160M.
The GeForce 920M 2GB has 384 Shader Processing Units but the Quadro NVS 160M does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.
The GeForce 920M 2GB requires 25 Watts to run and the Quadro NVS 160M requires 12 Watts. The GeForce 920M 2GB requires 13 Watts more than the Quadro NVS 160M to run. The difference is not significant enough for the GeForce 920M 2GB to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the Quadro NVS 160M.

Mini Review | Overview GeForce 920M 2GB is an Entry-Level Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Kepler Architecture. Architecture This Graphics Card Equips the Kepler GK208 GPU which is essentially a power optimized version of the GK107 GPU. Whereas it still has a count of 2 Stream Multiprocessors, the bus-width has been cut in half to allow for even a smaller power consumption and consequently a cooler operating temperature. Additionally, the GK208 GPU allows the Central Unit to reach a significant higher frequency, thanks to the Kepler Boost 2.0 Technology. The better the laptop's cooling system, the higher the frequency. GPU It equips a GPU Codenamed GK208-N16V-GM which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 384 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit is Initially clocked at 575MHz and goes up to 954MHz, in Turbo Mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 64-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and in no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 25W, it is suited for small laptops. Performance GeForce 920M 2GB is essentially a slightly faster GeForce GT 735M and offers more or less comparable performance. System Suggestions We recommend a Modest Processor and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GT 920M 2GB. | Quadro NVS 160M is a business card with support for special drivers that are certified for professional applications like Microsoft Office Suite, Hummingbird Exceed, Lotus Notes, etc. It's part of the Quadro NVS Mobile Series released by NVIDIA, in 2006/2007/2010. Though business cards have no driver support for games, some of them deliver astonishing performance (e.g. Quadro 6000, Tesla C2075). Quadro NVS 160M, however, isn't one of them. The performance is enough for all old games and some modern games like the Fifa Series but it's still incapable of playing today's games like Crysis 2 and Metro 2033, even at the lowest settings. |
