In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 4850 are very slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce GT 640 v3 Zotac 2GB Edition.

Without Overclocking Out of The Box, GeForce GT 640 v3 Zotac 2GB Edition is as fast as the reference GeForce GT 640 v3.
Radeon HD 4850 is a high-end GFX based on the 55nm, third unified shader architecture, R700.
It's based on the RV770 PRO Core and offers 800 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs a 256-bit memory interface of standard GDDR3. The central unit runs at 625MHz and the memory clock runs at up to 993MHz.
Some of today's modern games should run fluently at high settings but with modest resolutions. DirectX 11 games aren't supported.
