GeForce GTX 950M 2GB is a Performance Mobile Graphics Card based on the first variant of the Maxwell architecture.

Architecture
The first variant of the Maxwell Architecture succeeds the Kepler Architecture. Despite being also manufactured with a 28nm technology, it has an extremely large L2 Cache which allows NVIDIA to produce Graphics Cards with relatively small memory data transfer rates, without causing too much impact on the overall performance. Furthermore, the Shaders have been redesigned and are both more powerful and energy efficient.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed GM107-N16P-GT which has 5 SM activated and thus offers 640 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The central unit runs at 914MHz and goes up to 993MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The memory clock operates at 1253MHz. The size of the frame buffer is adequate.

Features
DirectX 12 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for GameStream, G-SYNC, GPU Boost 2.0, GeForce Experience, PhysX and other technologies.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 50W, it may be equipped in average sized notebooks.

Performance
Because GeForce GTX 950M 2GB is just a higher clocked GeForce GTX 850M v2 2GB, its performance is only about 5% faster than its predecessors and so GeForce GTX 860M 2GB is still faster.
Still, it still offers decent gaming at 1920x1080 and most modern games should run fluently at high settings.

System Suggestions
We recommend a strong processor (Intel Core i5 Mobile) and 8GB of RAM for a notebook with GeForce GTX 950M 2GB.
GeForce GTX 870M 6GB is variant of the high-end mobile graphics card - GeForce GTX 870M 3GB.
In this edition, the frame buffer was doubled to 6GB which will not boost its performance and can be addressed as a gimmick - marketing to lure consumers into paying more for the same product.
Thus, its performance is exactly like the 3GB variant.
GeForce GTX 870M 6GB will only be seen on large notebooks and it needs to be paired with 8GB of RAM and a Strong Quad Core. The card is suited for 1080p and even the most demanding games should run fluently at high settings.
