In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GT 755M SLI are very slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M 2GB.
The GT 755M has a 66 MHz higher core clock speed and 24 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 950M. This results in the GT 755M providing 26.1 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The GT 755M has a 66 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Render Output Units than the GTX 950M. This results in the GT 755M providing 16.8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The GTX 950M was released over a year more recently than the GT 755M, and so the GTX 950M is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GT 755M.
The GT 755M has 2048 MB more video memory than the GTX 950M, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GT 755M also has superior memory performance overall.
The GT 755M has 92.8 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 950M, which means that the memory performance of the GT 755M is massively better than the GTX 950M.
The GeForce GTX 950M 2GB has 640 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GT 755M SLI has 768. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 950M is 858 and the actual shader performance of the GT 755M is 753. The GTX 950M having 105 better shader performance is not particularly notable, as altogether the GT 755M performs better when taking into account other relevant data.
The GeForce GTX 950M 2GB requires 50 Watts to run and the GeForce GT 755M SLI requires 100 Watts. The GT 755M requires 50 Watts more than the GTX 950M to run. The difference is significant enough that the GT 755M may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GTX 950M.

Mini Review | Overview GeForce GTX 950M 2GB is a Performance Mobile Graphics Card based on the first variant of the Maxwell architecture. Architecture The first variant of the Maxwell Architecture succeeds the Kepler Architecture. Despite being also manufactured with a 28nm technology, it has an extremely large L2 Cache which allows NVIDIA to produce Graphics Cards with relatively small memory data transfer rates, without causing too much impact on the overall performance. Furthermore, the Shaders have been redesigned and are both more powerful and energy efficient. GPU It equips a GPU codenamed GM107-N16P-GT which has 5 SM activated and thus offers 640 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The central unit runs at 914MHz and goes up to 993MHz, in Turbo Mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The memory clock operates at 1253MHz. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. Features DirectX 12 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for GameStream, G-SYNC, GPU Boost 2.0, GeForce Experience, PhysX and other technologies. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 50W, it may be equipped in average sized notebooks. Performance Because GeForce GTX 950M 2GB is just a higher clocked GeForce GTX 850M v2 2GB, its performance is only about 5% faster than its predecessors and so GeForce GTX 860M 2GB is still faster. Still, it still offers decent gaming at 1920x1080 and most modern games should run fluently at high settings. System Suggestions We recommend a strong processor (Intel Core i5 Mobile) and 8GB of RAM for a notebook with GeForce GTX 950M 2GB. | Overview GeForce GT 755M SLI is a solution of two GeForce GT 755M put together using NVIDIA's SLI technology. Architecture The Kepler Architecture was NVIDIA's big step to power efficiency. Each Stream Multiprocessor (SMX) now hosts 192 Shader Processing Units - against the 48 of older Fermi Architecture, and has been redesigned being now clocked at the same speed of the Central Unit. This means they are more energy efficient and will consequently lead to cooler operating temperatures. However, it also means they are weaker. It can be said that one Fermi SMX is as fast as 2 Kepler SMXs. Additionally, and not available in all GPUs, Kepler also introduced the Boost Clock Feature. The Boost Clock is an even higher Clock Speed activated when in gaming mode and becomes the effective speed of the GPU. Memory Each GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 1350MHz. Power Consumption Power Consumption lies between 75W and 125W. Performance Because SLI Relies on Proper Driver Support for Scaling, Performance may vary from game to game. Overall, GeForce GT 755M SLI should offer Performance Comparable to a single GeForce GTX 770M at 1920x1080. System Suggestions GeForce GT 755M SLI is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. |
