In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 8850M are massively better than the AMD Radeon HD 6320.
The Radeon HD 8850M has a 125 MHz higher core clock speed and 32 more Texture Mapping Units than the Radeon HD 6320. This results in the Radeon HD 8850M providing 21 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.
The Radeon HD 8850M has a 125 MHz higher core clock speed and 12 more Render Output Units than the Radeon HD 6320. This results in the Radeon HD 8850M providing 8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.
The Radeon HD 8850M was released over a year more recently than the Radeon HD 6320, and so the Radeon HD 8850M is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the Radeon HD 6320.
The Radeon HD 8850M has 2048 MB video memory, but the Radeon HD 6320 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.
The Radeon HD 8850M has 640 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 6320 has 80. However, the actual shader performance of the Radeon HD 8850M is 496 and the actual shader performance of the Radeon HD 6320 is 26. The Radeon HD 8850M having 470 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the Radeon HD 8850M delivers a significantly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Radeon HD 6320.
The Radeon HD 8850M transistor size technology is 12 nm (nanometers) smaller than the Radeon HD 6320. This means that the Radeon HD 8850M is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the Radeon HD 6320.
The Radeon HD 8850M requires 45 Watts to run and the Radeon HD 6320 requires 18 Watts. The Radeon HD 8850M requires 27 Watts more than the Radeon HD 6320 to run. The difference is not significant enough for the Radeon HD 8850M to have a noticeably larger impact on your yearly electricity bills than the Radeon HD 6320.

Mini Review | Overview Radeon HD 8850M is a Performance Mobile Graphics Card based on the Second Revision of the GCN Architecture. Architecture The GCN 1.1 Release adds support for AMD's TrueAudio Technology which does calculations of audio effects "better" than the CPU and further improves the Powertune Technology. GPU It equips a GPU codenamed Venus PRO which has 10 Compute Units activated and thus offers 640 Shader Processing Units, 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The Central Unit Initially Operates at 625MHz and goes up to 775MHz, in Turbo Mode. Memory The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and in no way benefits the GPU. The memory clock operates at 1000MHz. Features DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Crossfire, PowerTune Technology, Eyefinity, App Acceleration, HD3D, ZeroCore Power and other technologies. Power Consumption With a rated board TDP of 45W, it is suited for 17" or larger laptops. Performance Gaming benchmarks put its performance somewhat above NVIDIA's GeForce GT 750M. System Suggestions We recommend a Decent Processor (Intel Core i5 Mobile) and 8GB of RAM for a system with Radeon HD 8850M. | Radeon HD 6320 is an integrated GPU in one of the Zacate Processors, based on the 40nm Terrascale 2 architecture. It's based on the Cedar Core (therefore related to Radeon HD 6350) and offers 80 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. Both the operating memory clock's speed and bus width will depend on the system's RAM configuration and speed. Its central clock runs at up to 500MHz (600MHz in Turbo Mode). Its performance is very limited and so today's modern games can only be played using very low resolutions such as 800x680 - 1024x768 or are unplayable at all. |
