In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 7290 are very slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce 9500M.

Radeon HD 7290 is an Integrated Graphics Card, on the APU C-70, based on the second revision of the Terascale Architecture.

Architecture
The Second variant of the Terascale 2 Architecture is still manufactured with a 40nm technology and despite allowing more Stream Cores, their design remains more or less the same compared to the first variant.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed Loveland which has 1 Compute Units activated and thus offers 80 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The Central Unit Initially Runs at 280MHz and goes up to 400MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU Shares the System's RAM which varies from laptop to laptop. Typically, the GPU reserves 1GB. Depending on whether or not the system's RAM is Dual-Channeled, it can access either a 64-bit or 128-bit memory interface. The operating memory clock also depends on the at which speed the System's RAM is running and is limited by the highest operating speed that the Processor supports. In this case, it is 533MHz.
It is then obvious the Memory Bandwidth depends on a lot of factors and thus Radeon HD 7310's performance may vary from system to system.

It had previously been thought that NVIDIA had decided to drop the G and NV nomenclature for a D (for Desktop) nomenclature on their processors. Following the D is the generation number and the target market indicator. NVIDIA's official designations for target markets include Mainstream, Performance, and Enthusiast. For example, the D9E indicates a 9th generation Desktop GeForce video card for the Enthusiast market[1]. However, NVIDIA has actually forked their codenames into those of graphics processors, and those of graphics cards. The GPU cores have kept the prefix 'G' and future versions will include the prefix 'GT'; whereas the actual cards are now codenamed as D, generation number and target market.
