In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti WindForce Edition are massively better than the AMD Radeon HD 6450 v2.

We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the HD 6450 and a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the GTX 550 Ti. The GTX 550 Ti has been recommended a PSU with 100 Watts more than the HD 6450. Radeon HD 6450 v2 is an entry-level Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Terascale Architecture.

Architecture
The Second variant of the Terascale 2 Architecture is still manufactured with a 40nm technology and despite allowing more Stream Cores, their design remains more or less the same compared to the first variant.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed Caicos XT which has 2 Compute Units activated and thus offers 160 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The Central Unit Operates at 750MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 512MB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 64-bit memory interface. The memory clock operates at 900MHz. The size of the frame buffer is adequate.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for HD3D, Eyefinity, App Acceleration, PowerPlay and other technologies.

Cooling Solution
The Cooling Solution consists of a Single-Fan.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 18W, it requires at least a 300W PSU and it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.
