In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 7690M are marginally better than the AMD Radeon R6 7300.

The Radeon HD 7690M has a 192 MHz higher core clock speed and the same number of Texture Mapping Units as the Radeon R6 7300. This results in the Radeon HD 7690M providing 4.6 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The Radeon HD 7690M has a 192 MHz higher core clock speed and 8 more Render Output Units than the Radeon R6 7300. This results in the Radeon HD 7690M providing 7.3 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The Radeon R6 7300 was released over a year more recently than the Radeon HD 7690M, and so the Radeon R6 7300 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the Radeon HD 7690M.

The Radeon HD 7690M has 1024 MB video memory, but the Radeon R6 7300 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The Radeon R6 7300 has 384 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 7690M has 480. However, the actual shader performance of the Radeon R6 7300 is 133 and the actual shader performance of the Radeon HD 7690M is 174. The Radeon HD 7690M having 41 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the Radeon HD 7690M delivers a marginally smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Radeon R6 7300.

The Radeon R6 7300 transistor size technology is 12 nm (nanometers) smaller than the Radeon HD 7690M. This means that the Radeon R6 7300 is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the Radeon HD 7690M. While they exhibit similar graphical performance, the Radeon R6 7300 should consume less power than the Radeon HD 7690M.

The Radeon R6 7300 requires 20 Watts to run and the Radeon HD 7690M requires 20 Watts. The two GPUs require the same amount of wattage to run. As such, there is no need to worry about which will more significantly affect your yearly electricity bills.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewRadeon R6 7300 is an integrated Graphics Card in the APU A10-7300.

It is based on the Graphics Core Next Architecture and offers 384 Shader Processing Units, 24 TMUs and 8 ROPs. While the central unit is set at 533MHz, the memory bus-width will depend on whether or not the system's RAM is dual-channeled and the operating memory clock, on its frequency. Thus, it can be either 64-bit or 128-bit and up to 800MHz.
The Graphics Card also shares the processor's L2 Cache of 4MB. Therefore, it reduces the need to resort to its memory bandwidth.

Overall, the Graphics Card's performance depends a lot on the system configuration. Best case scenario, expect performance superior to a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GT 720M or an AMD Radeon R5 M230.
The card is thus suited for 720p gaming and some modern demanding games can be played at least on medium settings.
Overview
Radeon HD 7690M is a Middle-Class Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Terascale Architecture.

Architecture
The Second variant of the Terascale 2 Architecture is still manufactured with a 40nm technology and despite allowing more Stream Cores, their design remains more or less the same compared to the first variant.

GPU
It equips a GPU codenamed Thames XT which has 6 Compute Units activated and thus offers 480 Shader Processing Units, 24 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit runs at 725MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 1GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 128-bit memory interface. The memory clock operates at 900MHz. The size of the frame buffer is adequate.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Crossfire, HD3D, Eyefinity, App Acceleration, PowerPlay and other technologies.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 20W, it is suited for average sized laptops.

Performance
Gaming benchmarks put its performance somewhere between GeForce GT 550M and GeForce GT 555M.

System Suggestions
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3 Mobile and 4GB of RAM for a system with Radeon HD 7690M.
