In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon R7 M260X are very slightly better than the Nvidia Quadro FX 3700M.

The Radeon R7 M260X was released over three years more recently than the Quadro FX 3700M, and so the Radeon R7 M260X is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the Quadro FX 3700M when running the latest games.

The Radeon R7 M260X has 1024 MB more video memory than the Quadro FX 3700M, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the Radeon R7 M260X also has superior memory performance overall.

The Radeon R7 M260X has 12.8 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the Quadro FX 3700M, which means that the memory performance of the Radeon R7 M260X is slightly better than the Quadro FX 3700M.

The Radeon R7 M260X has 384 Shader Processing Units and the Quadro FX 3700M has 128. However, the actual shader performance of the Radeon R7 M260X is 233 and the actual shader performance of the Quadro FX 3700M is 70. The Radeon R7 M260X having 163 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the Radeon R7 M260X delivers a slightly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Quadro FX 3700M.

The Radeon R7 M260X transistor size technology is 37 nm (nanometers) smaller than the Quadro FX 3700M. This means that the Radeon R7 M260X is expected to run much cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the Quadro FX 3700M. While they exhibit similar graphical performance, the Radeon R7 M260X should consume less power than the Quadro FX 3700M.

The Radeon R7 M260X requires 35 Watts to run and the Quadro FX 3700M requires 75 Watts. The Quadro FX 3700M requires 40 Watts more than the Radeon R7 M260X to run. The difference is significant enough that the Quadro FX 3700M may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the Radeon R7 M260X.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewRadeon R7 M260X is a middle-class-level graphics card based on the second revision of the Graphics Core Next architecture.
It offers a core codenamed Marts XT that packs 384 Shader Processing Units, 24 TMUs and 8 ROPs, on a 128-bit memory interface of fast GDDR5. While the central unit runs at 725MHz, the memory clock operates at up to 1000MHz. The regular version should offer 2GB of video memory but expect to see gimmicks of up to 4GB.
Radeon R7 M260X is considerably faster than Radeon R7 M260 due to its extra bandwidth and thus allows gaming at higher resolutions.
This card should be paired with a decent Dual Core Processor at least 8GB of RAM.
The Quadro® FX 3700M high-end mobile workstation graphics solution with its revolutionary unified architecture, delivers 1 GB memory, excellent image quality, and optimized visual computing application performance pushing the limits of a 17" mobile workstation. The reference standard for OpenGL 2.1, DirectX 10, and Shader Model 4.0, Quadro FX 3700M enables next generation applications with new levels of interactivity to meet the demands of CAD engineers, graphics designers, and other technical design professionals.
