In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Golden Sample Edition are significantly better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Palit StormX OC 1GB Edition.

The GTX 750 has a 79 MHz higher core clock speed than the GTX 660, but the GTX 660 has 48 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 750. As a result, the GTX 660 exhibits a 45.8 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 750. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 750 has a 79 MHz higher core clock speed than the GTX 660, but the GTX 660 has 8 more Render Output Units than the GTX 750. As a result, the GTX 660 exhibits a 6.7 GPixel/s better Pixel Fill Rate than the GTX 750. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 750 was released over a year more recently than the GTX 660, and so the GTX 750 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GTX 660.

The GTX 660 has 1024 MB more video memory than the GTX 750, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GTX 660 also has superior memory performance overall.

The GTX 660 has 65 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 750, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 660 is much better than the GTX 750.

The GeForce GTX 750 Palit StormX OC 1GB Edition has 512 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 660 Golden Sample Edition has 960. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 750 is 804 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 660 is 1029. The GTX 660 having 225 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 660 delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GTX 750.

The GeForce GTX 750 Palit StormX OC 1GB Edition requires 55 Watts to run but there is no entry for the GeForce GTX 660 Golden Sample Edition. We would recommend a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the GTX 750.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewGeForce GTX 750 Palit StormX OC 1GB Edition is a special edition of the fast-middle-class GeForce GTX 750.
This edition comes with a custom cooling cooling solution which by itself will allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 750 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Furthermore, it comes overclocked out of the box in the central unit that was raised from 1020MHz to 1085MHz, while the Turbo Boost is now of 1163MHz, instead of 1085MHz. The operating memory clock was increased to 1275MHz.
Further overclocking can be achieved easily, as the GPU has great OC potential.
Benchmarks indicate its performance is around 6% better than the reference NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 and thus this card is slightly faster than Radeon R7 260X.
GeForce GTX 660 Golden Sample Edition is a special edition of GeForce GTX 660.
The new features include overclocking whilst the base-clock was increased from 980MHz to 1046MHz and the boost clock can now reach 1072MHz, instead of 1006MHz. The operating memory clock was increased to 1527MHz, which doesn't necessarily boost its performance.
The overclocking is significant and the performance boost is around 3% when compared to the standard GeForce GTX 660.
