Mini Review | Intel HD Graphics Desktop (Ivy Bridge) are integrated graphics in the budget Celeron and Pentium Ivy Bridge Desktop processors. Their performance depends on the processor they are integrated on, as the latter defines the Base and Boost Clock, as well as on the SYSTEM RAM, which defines the operating memory clock, and whether the GPU accesses a 64-bit or 128-bit memory interface. Best case scenario, the Intel HD Graphics Desktop (Ivy Bridge) perform slightly above the Intel HD 2500 Graphics and so most modern demanding games will have to be played with the lowest settings, while some aren't even playable. | Intel Q43 Express Chipset comes embedded on the Intel Core 2 Quad/Core 2 Duo CPUS and features an Integrated GPU called Intel GMA X4500. Various Intel Chipsets come with the Intel GMA X4500 but this one (and the Q45) seem to deliver the best performance. However, due to its characteristics (e.g. Shared Memory) the performance is still very limited but might be enough to play today's games at low or medium settings excluding, however, very demanding games like Metro 2033 or The Witcher II, that are probably unplayable, even at the lowest settings. Note 1: Intel GMA X4500 does support DirectX 10 but even the most forgiving games might be unplayable due to the demand level. |
