In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Zotac Thunderbolt 1GB Edition are marginally better than the AMD Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Edition.

The GTX 750 has a 329 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD 6870, but the HD 6870 has 24 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 750. As a result, the HD 6870 exhibits a 11.1 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 750. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 750 has a 329 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD 6870, but the HD 6870 has 16 more Render Output Units than the GTX 750. As a result, the HD 6870 exhibits a 9.1 GPixel/s better Pixel Fill Rate than the GTX 750. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 750 was released over a year more recently than the HD 6870, and so the GTX 750 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the HD 6870.

The GeForce GTX 750 Zotac Thunderbolt 1GB Edition and the Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Edition have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The HD 6870 has 48 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 750, which means that the memory performance of the HD 6870 is noticeably better than the GTX 750.

The GeForce GTX 750 Zotac Thunderbolt 1GB Edition has 512 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Edition has 1120. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 750 is 912 and the actual shader performance of the HD 6870 is 504. The GeForce GTX 750 Zotac Thunderbolt 1GB Edition requires 55 Watts to run but there is no entry for the Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Edition. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the GTX 750 and a PSU with at least 500 Watts for the HD 6870. The HD 6870 has been recommended a PSU with 200 Watts more than the GTX 750. The difference is significant enough that the HD 6870 may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GTX 750.

GeForce GTX 750 Zotac Thunderbolt 1GB Edition is a special edition of the fast-middle-class GeForce GTX 750.
This edition comes with a custom cooling cooling solution which by itself will allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 750 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Furthermore, it comes overclocked out of the box in the central unit that was raised from 1020MHz to 1229MHz, while the Turbo Boost is now of 1320MHz, instead of 1085MHz. The operating memory clock was increased to 1350MHz, increasing the much needed memory bandwidth.
Further overclocking can be achieved easily, as the GPU has great OC potential.
Benchmarks indicate its performance is around 10% better than the reference NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 and thus this card is much faster than Radeon R7 260X.
Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Edition is a special edition of the high-end Radeon HD 6870. See its page for more information about it.
Compared to the Radeon HD 6870, this Special Edition has exactly the same specifications and the only new feature is an improved cooling system which doesn't affect performance directly.
Therefore, the performance is EXACTLY like the standard Radeon HD 6870 and enough to run today's demanding games at maximum settings while Very Demanding games like Metro 2033 or Max Payne 3, will probably require reduced settings to run smoothly.
