In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 8370D are noticeably better than the AMD Radeon HD 4350 1GB.

The Radeon HD 8370D has a 160 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Texture Mapping Units than the HD 4350. This results in the Radeon HD 8370D providing 13.4 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The Radeon HD 8370D has a 160 MHz higher core clock speed and 4 more Render Output Units than the HD 4350. This results in the Radeon HD 8370D providing 3.7 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The Radeon HD 8370D was released over three years more recently than the HD 4350, and so the Radeon HD 8370D is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the HD 4350 when running the latest games.

The HD 4350 has 1024 MB video memory, but the Radeon HD 8370D does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The Radeon HD 8370D has 128 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 4350 1GB has 80. However, the actual shader performance of the Radeon HD 8370D is 54 and the actual shader performance of the HD 4350 is 34. The Radeon HD 8370D having 20 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the Radeon HD 8370D delivers a noticeably smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the HD 4350.

The Radeon HD 8370D transistor size technology is 15 nm (nanometers) smaller than the HD 4350. This means that the Radeon HD 8370D is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the HD 4350. While they exhibit similar graphical performance, the Radeon HD 8370D should consume less power than the HD 4350.

The Radeon HD 8370D requires 65 Watts to run and the Radeon HD 4350 1GB requires 20 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the Radeon HD 8370D and a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the HD 4350. The Radeon HD 8370D requires 45 Watts more than the HD 4350 to run. The difference is significant enough that the Radeon HD 8370D may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the HD 4350.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewRadeon HD 8370D is an embedded Graphics Card on the low end Richland APUs like the A4-6300, A4-6320
They offer 128 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The memory interface depends on whether or not the system's RAM is dual channelled.
While the central unit runs at 760MHz, since the GFX doesn't have dedicated memory, the bandwidth will depend on the system ram speed which can be up to 2133MHz (the max speed supported by the CPU). Therefore, the max boost clock is 844MHz.
Th graphical performance is not top end by todays integrated graphics standards
With all the latest features, the ATI Radeon™ HD 4350 graphics card delivers the performance you need to take your high-definition experience to the next level at home, work and play. Add this graphics card to your PC and watch Blu-ray movies and HD content play with incredible visual fidelity, and view digital photos with over 1 billion colors2. Enjoy unprecedented levels of graphics realism and play the latest games with support for Microsoft DirectX® 10.1. Do it all with break-through efficiency that doesn’t compromise performance.
