In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 8370D are very slightly better than the AMD Radeon X1650 PowerColor 256MB Edition.

The Radeon HD 8370D was released over three years more recently than the X1650 PowerColor, and so the Radeon HD 8370D is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the X1650 PowerColor when running the latest games.

The X1650 PowerColor has 256 MB video memory, but the Radeon HD 8370D does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The Radeon HD 8370D has 128 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon X1650 PowerColor 256MB Edition has 12. However, the actual shader performance of the Radeon HD 8370D is 54 and the actual shader performance of the X1650 PowerColor is 4. The Radeon HD 8370D having 50 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the Radeon HD 8370D delivers a noticeably smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the X1650 PowerColor.

The Radeon HD 8370D requires 65 Watts to run but there is no entry for the Radeon X1650 PowerColor 256MB Edition. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the Radeon HD 8370D and a PSU with at least 350 Watts for the X1650 PowerColor. The Radeon HD 8370D has been recommended a PSU with 100 Watts more than the X1650 PowerColor. The difference is significant enough that the Radeon HD 8370D may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the X1650 PowerColor.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewRadeon HD 8370D is an embedded Graphics Card on the low end Richland APUs like the A4-6300, A4-6320
They offer 128 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The memory interface depends on whether or not the system's RAM is dual channelled.
While the central unit runs at 760MHz, since the GFX doesn't have dedicated memory, the bandwidth will depend on the system ram speed which can be up to 2133MHz (the max speed supported by the CPU). Therefore, the max boost clock is 844MHz.
Th graphical performance is not top end by todays integrated graphics standards
Radeon X1650 PowerColor 256MB Edition is a special edition of the Radeon X1650.
This version features a 64 bits bus, instead of 128 bits and it's equipped with only 256MB. The core and memory clocks are clocked at the same speed. Therefore, the performance is inferior to the standard Radeon X1650.
