In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 SLI are noticeably better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Gainward Phantom GLH Edition.

The GTX 770 has a 66 MHz higher core clock speed and 64 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 780. This results in the GTX 770 providing 79.6 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 770 has a 66 MHz higher core clock speed and 16 more Render Output Units than the GTX 780. This results in the GTX 770 providing 19.9 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 780 was released less than a year after the GTX 770, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.

Mini ReviewGeForce GTX 780 Gainward Phantom GLH Edition is a special edition of the high-end GeForce GTX 780.
This edition comes with a custom triple fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 780 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 863MHz to 980MHz while its boost clock is now of 1033MHz. The memory clock was also increased to 1550MHz.
Benchmarks indicate a 8% performance boost when compared to the reference card.
GeForce GTX 770 SLI is a combination of 2 GeForce GTX 770 put together using NVIDIA's SLI technology.
Together, this combination offers 3072 Shader Processing Units, 256 TMUs and 64 ROPs. This, on a 256-bit memory interface, per card, of fast GDDR5. While the central unit runs at 1046MHz and goes up to 1085MHz, in Turbo Mode, the memory clock operates at 1752MHz.
Best case scenario, this combination performs better than dual-graphics GeForce GTX 690 but ultimately, its performance depends on the driver support and on the 3D application.
Therefore, and paired with a powerful processor, all demanding games are playable at the highest settings. Still, this combination might surpass the 450W barrier of TDP and so it will require a very powerful PSU.
