GeForce GT 740M v3 is a Middle-Class Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Kepler Architecture.

Architecture
This Graphics Card Equips the Kepler GK208 GPU which is essentially a power optimized version of the GK107 GPU. Whereas it still has a count of 2 Stream Multiprocessors, the bus-width has been cut in half to allow for even a smaller power consumption and consequently a cooler operating temperature.
Additionally, the GK208 GPU allows the Central Unit to reach a significant higher frequency, thanks to the Kepler Boost 2.0 Technology. The better the laptop's cooling system, the higher the frequency.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GK208 which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 384 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 980MHz and may reach up to 1058MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 64-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and in no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.

Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance stands somewhere between GeForce GT 640M & GeForce GT 645M.

System Suggestions
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3 Mobile) and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GT 740M v3.

As usual, SLI relies a lot on proper driver support and may suffer from micro-stuttering in lower frame rates (below 30). Benchmarks indicate the performance is overall, up to X% better than a single GeForce 9800M GT performing by itself but at times (depending whether or not the 3D game supports SLI or in the graphics driver) it performed worse than a single GeForce 9800M GT.
A few demanding games will run at the highest settings with fluent frame rates (30+) but overall most games will require reduced settings to be played optimally.
