In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 3850 AGP are noticeably better than the AMD Radeon HD 8570D.

The Radeon HD 8570D has a 176 MHz higher core clock speed and the same number of Texture Mapping Units as the HD 3850. This results in the Radeon HD 8570D providing 2.8 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The Radeon HD 8570D has a 176 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD 3850, but the HD 3850 has 8 more Render Output Units than the Radeon HD 8570D. As a result, the HD 3850 exhibits a 3.9 GPixel/s better Pixel Fill Rate than the Radeon HD 8570D. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The Radeon HD 8570D was released over three years more recently than the HD 3850, and so the Radeon HD 8570D is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the HD 3850 when running the latest games.

The HD 3850 has 512 MB video memory, but the Radeon HD 8570D does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

However, the actual shader performance of the Radeon HD 8570D is 140 and the actual shader performance of the HD 3850 is 214. The HD 3850 having 74 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the HD 3850 delivers a slightly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Radeon HD 8570D.

The Radeon HD 8570D transistor size technology is 27 nm (nanometers) smaller than the HD 3850. This means that the Radeon HD 8570D is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the HD 3850.

The Radeon HD 8570D requires 65 Watts to run and the Radeon HD 3850 AGP requires 75 Watts. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the HD 3850, but we do not have a recommended PSU wattage for the Radeon HD 8570D. Mini ReviewRadeon HD 8570D is an embedded Graphics Card on the mainstream Richland APUs A8-6600 and A8-6600K.
They offer 256 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The memory interface depends on whether or not the system's RAM is dual channelled.
While the central unit runs at 844MHz (for 6600K, 800MHz for 6600), since the GFX doesn't have dedicated memory, the bandwidth will depend on the system ram speed which can be up to 1866MHz (the max speed supported by the CPU). Therefore, the max operating memory clock is 933MHz.
Its performance is slightly worse than Intel HD 4600 and only very slightly better than previous Radeon HD 7560D.
Radeon HD 3850 AGP is a variant of the high-end Radeon HD 3850 based on the 55nm, second unified shader architecture, R600. Check its page to know more about its Core.
Compared to Radeon HD 3850, it features twice as much video memory and an AGP 8X Bus Interface. Benchmarks indicate the double sized frame buffer benefits this GPU largely and so its performance is up to 8% better than the reference Radeon HD 3850.
Today's modern games should run fluently at medium settings but with modest resolutions. DirectX 11 games aren't supported.
