In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M SLI are significantly better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 675M SLI.

The GTX 780M has a 151 MHz higher core clock speed and 128 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 675M. This results in the GTX 780M providing 118 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 780M has a 151 MHz higher core clock speed than the GTX 675M and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the GTX 780M providing 9.6 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 780M was released over a year more recently than the GTX 675M, and so the GTX 780M is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GTX 675M.

Both GPUs exhibit very powerful performance, so it probably isn't worth upgrading from one to the other, as both are capable of running even the most demanding games at the highest settings.

The GTX 780M has 4096 MB more video memory than the GTX 675M, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GTX 780M also has superior memory performance overall.

The GTX 780M has 128 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GTX 675M, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 780M is massively better than the GTX 675M.

The GeForce GTX 780M SLI has 3072 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 675M SLI has 768. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 780M is 2448 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 675M is 952. The GTX 780M having 1496 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 780M delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the GTX 675M.

The GTX 780M transistor size technology is 12 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GTX 675M. This means that the GTX 780M is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GTX 675M.

The GeForce GTX 780M SLI requires 200 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 675M SLI requires 200 Watts. The two GPUs require the same amount of wattage to run. As such, there is no need to worry about which will more significantly affect your yearly electricity bills.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewGeForce GTX 780M SLI is a combination of 2 GeForce GTX 780M put together using NVIDIA's SLI technology.
Together, this combination offers 3072 Shader Processing Units, 256 TMUs and 64 ROPs. This, on a 256-bit memory interface, per card, of fast GDDR5. While the central unit runs at 771MHz and goes up to 797MHz, in Turbo Mode, the memory clock operates at 1250MHz.
Best case scenario, this combination is expected to offer similar perform to a single desktop GeForce GTX Titan but ultimately, its performance depends on the driver support and on the 3D application.
Therefore, and paired with a powerful processor, all demanding games should be playable at the highest settings. Still, this combination might surpass the 220W barrier of TDP and so only a few laptops will offer it.
GeForce GTX 675M SLI is a solution of two GeForce GTX 675M put together using NVIDIA'S SLI technology.
Check the page of GeForce GTX 675M to know more about its chip.
As usual, SLI relies a lot on proper driver support and may suffer from micro-stuttering in lower frame rates (below 30). Benchmarks indicate the performance is overall, about 35% better than a single GeForce GTX 675M performing by itself but at times (depending whether or not the 3D game supports SLI or in the graphics driver) it performed worse than a single GeForce GTX 675M.
Even the most demanding games will run at the highest settings.
