In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTX SLI are significantly better than the Nvidia GeForce 710M.

The GeForce 710M was released over three years more recently than the 8800M GTX, and so the GeForce 710M is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the 8800M GTX when running the latest games.

The 8800M GTX has 1024 MB more video memory than the GeForce 710M, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the 8800M GTX also has superior memory performance overall.

The 8800M GTX has 190.4 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GeForce 710M, which means that the memory performance of the 8800M GTX is massively better than the GeForce 710M.

The GeForce 8800M GTX SLI has 192 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce 710M has 96. However, the actual shader performance of the 8800M GTX is 96 and the actual shader performance of the GeForce 710M is 149. The GeForce 710M having 53 better shader performance is not particularly notable, as altogether the 8800M GTX performs better when taking into account other relevant data.

The GeForce 710M transistor size technology is 37 nm (nanometers) smaller than the 8800M GTX. This means that the GeForce 710M is expected to run much cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the 8800M GTX.

The GeForce 8800M GTX SLI requires 130 Watts to run and the GeForce 710M requires 15 Watts. The 8800M GTX requires 115 Watts more than the GeForce 710M to run. The difference is significant enough that the 8800M GTX may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GeForce 710M.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewGeForce 8800M GTX SLI is a solution of two GeForce 8800M GTX put together using NVIDIA'S SLI technology.
Check the page of GeForce 8800M GTX to know more about its chip.
As usual, SLI relies a lot on proper driver support and may suffer from micro-stuttering in lower frame rates (below 30). Benchmarks indicate the performance is overall, up to X% better than a single GeForce 8800M GTX performing by itself but at times (depending whether or not the 3D game supports SLI or in the graphics driver) it performed worse than a single GeForce 8800M GTX.
A few demanding games will run at the highest settings with fluent frame rates (30+) but overall most games will require reduced settings to be played optimally.
GeForce 710M is a entry-level Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Fermi Architecture.

The Fermi Architecture is manufactured with a 40nm Technology and uses a technique known as Hot Clocking: The Shaders are clocked twice as fast as the Central Unit. While this leads to a reasonable performance boost, it causes enormous amounts of energy dissipation, leading, ultimately, to a significantly higher operating temperature.
Fermi is also the first GPU architecture with fully cached memory access which increases memory performance.

It equips a GPU Codenamed GF117-N14M-GL which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 96 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 775MHz. Additionally, GF117 is built using a 28nm technology.

The GPU accesses a 1GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 64-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.

DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Optimus, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 15W, it is suited for small laptops.

GeForce GT 710M is essentially a fast GeForce GT 620M.
Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is slightly below the older GeForce GT 540M.

System Suggestions
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3 Mobile) and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce 710M.
