In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce 9800M GT SLI are massively better than the Intel HD i5 U470.

The HD i5 U470 was released over a year more recently than the 9800M GT, and so the HD i5 U470 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the 9800M GT.

The 9800M GT has 1024 MB video memory, but the HD i5 U470 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The GeForce 9800M GT SLI has 192 Shader Processing Units and the HD i5 U470 has 12. However, the actual shader performance of the 9800M GT is 96 and the actual shader performance of the HD i5 U470 is 5. The 9800M GT having 91 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the 9800M GT delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the HD i5 U470.

The GeForce 9800M GT SLI requires 130 Watts to run and the HD i5 U470 requires 18 Watts. The 9800M GT requires 112 Watts more than the HD i5 U470 to run. The difference is significant enough that the 9800M GT may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the HD i5 U470.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewGeForce 9800M GT SLI is a solution of two GeForce 9800M GT put together using NVIDIA'S SLI technology.
Check the page of GeForce 9800M GT to know more about its chip.
As usual, SLI relies a lot on proper driver support and may suffer from micro-stuttering in lower frame rates (below 30). Benchmarks indicate the performance is overall, up to X% better than a single GeForce 9800M GT performing by itself but at times (depending whether or not the 3D game supports SLI or in the graphics driver) it performed worse than a single GeForce 9800M GT.
A few demanding games will run at the highest settings with fluent frame rates (30+) but overall most games will require reduced settings to be played optimally.
