In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 570M are significantly better than the Nvidia GeForce 9800M GT SLI.

The GeForce GTX 570M was released over a year more recently than the 9800M GT, and so the GeForce GTX 570M is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the 9800M GT.

The GeForce GTX 570M has 512 MB more video memory than the 9800M GT, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. However, overall, the 9800M GT has superior memory performance.

The 9800M GT has 30.4 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GeForce GTX 570M, which means that the memory performance of the 9800M GT is noticeably better than the GeForce GTX 570M.

The GeForce 9800M GT SLI has 192 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 570M has 336. However, the actual shader performance of the 9800M GT is 96 and the actual shader performance of the GeForce GTX 570M is 386. The GeForce GTX 570M having 290 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GeForce GTX 570M delivers a slightly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the 9800M GT.

The GeForce GTX 570M transistor size technology is 25 nm (nanometers) smaller than the 9800M GT. This means that the GeForce GTX 570M is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the 9800M GT.

The GeForce 9800M GT SLI requires 130 Watts to run and the GeForce GTX 570M requires 75 Watts. The 9800M GT requires 55 Watts more than the GeForce GTX 570M to run. The difference is significant enough that the 9800M GT may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GeForce GTX 570M.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewGeForce 9800M GT SLI is a solution of two GeForce 9800M GT put together using NVIDIA'S SLI technology.
Check the page of GeForce 9800M GT to know more about its chip.
As usual, SLI relies a lot on proper driver support and may suffer from micro-stuttering in lower frame rates (below 30). Benchmarks indicate the performance is overall, up to X% better than a single GeForce 9800M GT performing by itself but at times (depending whether or not the 3D game supports SLI or in the graphics driver) it performed worse than a single GeForce 9800M GT.
A few demanding games will run at the highest settings with fluent frame rates (30+) but overall most games will require reduced settings to be played optimally.
GeForce GTX 570M is a Performance Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Fermi Architecture.

The Fermi Architecture was first manufactured with a 40nm technology and uses a technique known as Hot Clocking: The Shaders are clocked twice as fast as the Central Unit. While this leads to a reasonable performance boost, it causes enormous amounts of energy dissipation, leading, ultimately, to a significantly higher operating temperature.
Fermi is also the first GPU architecture with fully cached memory access which increases memory performance.

It equips a GPU Codenamed GF114 which has 7 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 336 Shader Processing Units, 56 TMUs and 24 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 575MHz.

The GPU accesses a 1.5GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 192-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 750MHz.

DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for SLI, Optimus, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 75W, it is suited for large laptops.

Gaming benchmarks put its performance somewhat above a desktop GeForce GTX 550 Ti.

System Suggestions
We recommend a decent processor (Intel Core i5 Mobile) and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GTX 570M.
