In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 285M SLI are significantly better than the Nvidia Quadro FX 3700M.

The GTX 285M was released over a year more recently than the Quadro FX 3700M, and so the GTX 285M is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the Quadro FX 3700M.

The GTX 285M has 1024 MB more video memory than the Quadro FX 3700M, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the GTX 285M also has superior memory performance overall.

The GTX 285M has 14.1 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the Quadro FX 3700M, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 285M is slightly better than the Quadro FX 3700M.

The GeForce GTX 285M SLI has 256 Shader Processing Units and the Quadro FX 3700M has 128. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 285M is 154 and the actual shader performance of the Quadro FX 3700M is 70. The GTX 285M having 84 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 285M delivers a significantly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Quadro FX 3700M.

The GTX 285M transistor size technology is 10 nm (nanometers) smaller than the Quadro FX 3700M. This means that the GTX 285M is expected to run very slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the Quadro FX 3700M.

The GeForce GTX 285M SLI requires 150 Watts to run and the Quadro FX 3700M requires 75 Watts. The GTX 285M requires 75 Watts more than the Quadro FX 3700M to run. The difference is significant enough that the GTX 285M may have an adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the Quadro FX 3700M.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewGeForce GTX 285M SLI is a solution of two GeForce GTX 285M put together using NVIDIA'S SLI technology.
Check the page of GeForce GTX 285M to know more about its chip.
As usual, SLI relies a lot on proper driver support and may suffer from micro-stuttering in lower frame rates (below 30). Benchmarks indicate the performance is overall, up to X% better than a single GeForce GTX 285M performing by itself but at times (depending whether or not the 3D game supports SLI or in the graphics driver) it performed worse than a single GeForce GTX 285M.
Most demanding games will run at the highest settings with fluent frame rates (30+).
The Quadro® FX 3700M high-end mobile workstation graphics solution with its revolutionary unified architecture, delivers 1 GB memory, excellent image quality, and optimized visual computing application performance pushing the limits of a 17" mobile workstation.
